This wee girl arrived today for some TLC and to find a new home when she’s ready! ❤️ first impressions is she’s super sweet and seems to have a good mind… watch this space. More info will follow!

Maxi your such a good ponay! 🤗
Super stoked things are starting to click between the two of us… the tempo has sloooowed 🐎 and she’s carrying herself really lovely.
She’s a total joy to ride and even with a coarse error 🙄 in 0A (I don’t need to be told how simple this test is! 😅) we managed a 71.33% scoring lots of 8’s 👊.
A bit of tension creeped in for 0B but still pulled off 69.66%.
I REALLY hope we can get the canter sorted and carry the good marks through to prelim 🤞🤞 watch this space 😅.

Once again leaving Ferg in charge of photography seemed not hugely successful 😬😂.

A slow introduction to gentle weaning has begun for wee Tino. I’d love to leave him with mum for longer but she’s struggling to keep up with the demands of feeding him and possibly brewing another! He’s 6months now and will spend short periods of time each day with this lovely chestnut gelding while his mumma chills in the yard with her hay. Day one was a complete non-event for everyone. I’ll extend the time and distance each day Over the next week then he will be completely weaned and none the wiser ❤️ its a bit labour intensive but hopefully this sets him up to be a confident and regulated dude when he’s older 🤞

Te Anau horses - Pre session WOF!

Veronica from In Flow Equine Therapy is a fully qualified Masterton Method practitioner who is interested in doing either a demo here or a day of treating horses at their home.

Things have been so chaotic and busy round here lately I’ve hardly had time for Facebook updates and tbh I can’t be arsed right now so here’s some bullet points;
- Sam’s still a legend but now a semi retired legend preserving his energy for breeding season.
- Ponies suck.
- Tinos growing like a w**d and simply stunning!
- It’s cold.
- Havana looks like she could be in foal…?
- It’s rather muddy.

But, the best part is I’ve finally found my new dancing partner to fill the void untill some young horses come of age… Excited to introduce our lovely new mare 🤗 Maxine Turbo Timer ⏱️🐴 Lucky enough to have her on lease from a kind friend but very tempted to make it a permanent thing. She’s one of the big moving horse. It’s going to be a learning curve for me to ride this power house!

Was meant to take the new steed to a dressage lesson in Gore today… I got to Gorge Hill and turned around. The crazy frost and a truck on its roof on the side of the road put the sh*ts up me enough to turn around and head for home…
Turns out the substitute ride was likely a tad more fun anyway 😅❤️
