Tiki, FIV positive - indoor only star.

Tiki, around 8 years old, has made significant progress since he was rescued near Whakatiki Park. Due to his challenging past, he is FIV positive and requires a special home that can provide for an indoor-only cat. Tiki is a striking grey tabby adorned with captivating swirls and patterns in gorgeous hues. He has an old eye injury that adds to his unique charm.

He's a large fellow and may appear intimidating at first, but deep down, he is the biggest sweetheart. He adores receiving pets and cuddles. He enjoys chatting and will gladly sit on your lap, soaking up affection while you relax on the couch. He has a fondness for Temptations and gets thrilled at the sound of the packet crinkling.

However, he can become startled by sudden noises and may retreat to a cozy spot to feel secure. Tiki is also quite the escape artist, therefore, it’s crucial to ensure he remains safely indoors, as he will revert if he gets out.

Currently, Tiki is in a foster home with small dogs, and he has been fine with them as long as they are calm and uninterested in him. He has also interacted with an older child and has been okay, but younger children might be overwhelming for him. He's great with cats, and as he has most of his teeth removed it is near impossible for Tiki to pass on FIV.

Ideally, he would thrive in a home with a retired single person or couple who have ample time to devote to him, providing a safe and loving environment.

✨ MISS LUNAR! 🌙

Lunar the adorable Tabby kitten is eager to be part of everything you do! At nearly 6 months old, she was once a wild kitten who wandered into her foster home shortly after the lunar eclipse in March. Within just a few days, she quickly adapted to the comforts of domestic life. 😊

She enjoys head nuzzles and neck scratches, although she is still getting accustomed to hands and being held too often. With plenty of playful kitten energy, she particularly loves chasing her favorite string on a stick.

She thrives on routine, especially when it comes to meals and playtime. Most nights, she prefers to sleep in a cozy cat cave on the bed, then shifts over for snuggles around 5am until it's time for breakfast after sunrise. After some good playtime, she often curls up on a lap or in a warm cave for a nap until lunch. Then it’s play, eat, and sleep until dinner.

Lunar enjoys snuggling between knees and shins, hiding behind the laptop screen, and will contentedly nap there for hours during the day. Her foster home has recently constructed a catio, and she has taken a liking to observing nature and soaking up the sun, although she remains a bit wary of being outside again.

Rescued in a malnourished and frightened state, she now seems much better suited for a safe, indoor lifestyle. We believe she would thrive with another kitten her age to play with or someone who is home frequently to keep her company.

Ugh, I've done it again 😭 Rescues don't want to run / live like this, but at the worst of times we have to. This is so stressful and I feel awful continuously asking for the help.

I did not want to run up our vet bill again but we've had to due to a massive lack of funds, cryptorchids and dentals. Dentals are hurting us - 2 cats alone had almost 4K in dental work. And exploratory surgeries due to adult cryptorchism is also severely hurting the bank.

We can apply for a grant next month, but grants pay off future fees, not current and previous.

I'm beyond stressed and I hate living like this. With 91 cats in care and growing and only 💲1K in the bank account I'm freaking out. We're back to paying weekly rent from this week (💲450) and with many mouths to feed we are going to be bankrupt by the end of next week.

I'm currently working at 4 colonies but I now must close as we have literally no space and no funds.

If you can help in any way the cats and I are extremely grateful. Seriously I cannot thank you all enough, and I'm sorry for always asking :(

🐾 CARRIERS NEEDED 🐾

Hi everyone :) With 90 cats in care we are in need of front load carriers please and thank you.

Pictured below are a few of my favourites, but we're not too fussed as long as they are an appropriate size for either a kitten or an adult cat and are in a usable condition with a top handle. ❌ Please no The Warehouse or Bunnings carriers thank you as they are not suitable for wild kitties.

We have drop off spots in Upper Hutt, Stokes Valley, and Tawa. Please message our page for locations.

Welcome Whiskey, Glenfiddoch, Fireball and Sierra, wildborn rescues from Moonshine Road. These are kits to the Mumma we returned with a tracking collar, and now we can finally retrap her and the 2 tom cats of the area.

There's been no luck with trapping kitties, and we've been hit with a quarantine disaster - a set of kitties at HQ has ringworm and we're now officially closed and in lockdown. 💔 😭

If anyone out there can help with fostering a pair of ringworm kitties I'd be forever grateful and it would take a huge load off of me and our HQ 🙏 Given you're persistent with medication and cleaning, RW isn't actually as bad as most make it out to be. Just 8 weeks of your time would be the biggest help. 🥲

I'm actively trapping tonight down Moonshine Valley Road for kittens. If you remember a little while ago we had to release a feeding Mumma with a tracking collar on.

We've tracked them down twice since, and now the kittens are heavy enough to set off a trap and they're starting to visit the feeding stations without Mum.
