The Te Ara Kahikatea Pathway is a 4km cycle/walkway near Te Puke's CBD which traverses 5 local reser Te Ara Kahikatea Inc.

We have a committed group of Te Puke citizens representative of various community sectors and interests dedicated to creating and maintaining this walking and cycling pathway near Te Puke's CBD. is an incorporated society formed specifically to develop this and other similar projects in and around Te Puke. The society has a Memorandum of Understanding with Western Bay of Plenty District Council on

whose land the majority of the pathway has been developed. We are always open to new members joining our group. Please message this page for further contact details.

Hi All, unfortunately we only just found out about the KiwiRail Bridge 92 work this morning, but we have had an update from WBOPDC Cycleways Manager Scott Parker.
KiwiRail are aware of the high community use of the walkway and will endeavour to keep access open under the bridge as much as possible, however there will be times when this is not possible as they have to replace or strengthen some of the aged timber bridge structure.
Last time they had to do this they were in and out pretty quickly, so hopefully this time will be the same. Please be patient and mindful of your personal safety.
