🐾THE DESEX PROJECT 🐾

We Face these challenges daily, Like EVERY SINGLE RESCUE ,,

😭
It's incredibly overwhelming and extremely emotional,, especially with the amount of Puppies/Dogs needing support And simply not enough Room /placements/Resources for them 😥
It's incredibly Ruff on Rescues like ourselves who want to help as many as we can but simply cannot save them All.others are at capacity but still the calls keep coming..more and more puppies...dumped abandoned pound pups etc etc

Another Reason we started the Desex project last year was to provide support to families especially those who came to us seeking help with pups,,We were willing to help as long as agreement to Desex muma dog was organized.

We have had many Desexed with funds the Rescue raised from the community last year
and this year we have already Desexed 4 thanks to the SPCA who provided vouchers.🙏
We have 3 more Requests..

It's a Tiny step in stopping the ongoing cycle of unwanted pups though sadly ..

This year our Goal is to continue desexing as many dogs as possible,and care for as many as we are capable of,

it's just Really hard for anyone involved in Rescue work right now especially when we blame ourselves for those we cannot save😓

Every dogs life matters!
and we care immensely about them all , but this is the heartache we ,And all others face...💜🐾

She is settling well and enjoyed sleeping on the bed with her new mum last night 😁❤️

🚨Mum and 3 puppies🚨

TE PUKE

Does anyone recognize these dogs?

Late last night
Found Abandoned at a park wandering in the night, no owners in sight....
Probably looking for food, they were starving & worn out ,
Mum is struggling not feeding well she's drained..and not producing enough milk
We Will get some of the puppy porridge from The New Zealand Natural Pet Food Co for them and check mum for a microchip

They were given a safe,warm place to stay last night 💜
After smashing back some Food mum just collapsed and fell asleep
Pups need worming treatments by the looks of it.

At this stage it's hard to be judgemental as we don't know the complete story or if they are owned .

If owners are found we will offer to Desex mum & take the puppies into our care, provide any support needed to ensure the dogs are being cared for ❤️
And supply some food for them all .

Please know there is support available for your Dogs!!🐾❤️

Proof of ownership will be Required

Our tiny pawed Furbudy Arrived this morning,
She was delighted to see us and the boys

We got some Dog Food out to the Welcome Bay Community Centre

Picked up a crate & some Lovely donations...🙏💜

Another stack of blankets & beds were at the door when we got home

We have biscuits for community Aid to bag up tonight ,,

We provided a desexing voucher to a mama dog who had a litter 👍❤️Thankyou Tauranga SPCA

It's been a long day ,,
The amount of Dogs needing help is overwhelming and theres simply not enough places available for them to go ..

Every dog is important to us and we do everything we are capable of to try support them ...
I spend many late nights going thru Messages/emails,,
The ones I cannot save keep me up at Night...

We've had an emergency Call of a 4pawed family in need of support we will be assisting them,,for now the starving dogs have been fed and are sleeping ,totally exhausted...

Who knows what these ones have been through...but we will do our best to help them all,,
we are setting up crates and beds ready for the morning 🌄

Please can someone help me today is my last day or we will no longer be able to stay in our home...💔🙏 Have tried All the rescues in Tauranga & no one is able to help or even a foster that we can find until there is some room in a rescue Please there must be someone who can help 🙏

His name is Bebe, he is neutered and healthy, he is 2, he needs a safe fenced property where he can just walk in and out as he pleases as he loves to spend time outside sniffing the grass, flowers and playing with his ball. He needs a best friend" he's used to a women and will make you feel very loved and safe, he needs a strong patient woman to be able to teach him & love him.

🚨Today's Rescue was ..😖

Heartbreaking 😞

another sweet innocent soul taken ,,
And the short start to her life must have been terrible to endure...having this injury for God knows how long 🥺
When she arrived early this afternoon
We placed her in a crate and gave her food and water but she just sat there,
We got her to our Vet immediately and they assessed her straight away
Too lethargic and tiny,, the best for her sadly was to euthinize 😢

I can only find peace knowing I finally ended her suffering,
consoling her and patting her tiny wee head as she passed peacefully in my arms

but it still never gets easier ,...

And our Cookie who went to a family who Adopted one of our Snow crew pups!!

It was a tearful goodbye to cookie she was a sweet precious girl..
Every dog that comes thru is special..
But without Adoptions there wouldn't be room for the next pup who needs us...

One is already due tomorrow and needs vet care/possibly surgery so we will be getting ready for her,huge thanks to Alison for offering to foster her
She might be needing surgery we will know tomorrow ❤️

The dogs know exactly what is expected of them and what's going to happen at what exact time...(TEAS🔛🔜🕔)
This ensures less chaos and boredom/naughty behaviour/mischief 😁
And keeps them happy it will benefit the entire household.

THIS IT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE WHEN YOU GET A FREEDOM RIDE TO A FOREVER HOME FROM THE POUND!! 💜🐾

Sweet AWHI was found wandering the streets ending up at the pound and no owners found she might have faced the inevitable....

But she was not overlooked by a lovely couple who wanted to save her, ( bless there big hearts)

So AWHI was released and has been in her care for a while now , absolutely thriving with loads of love and a safe place to call her own.

We LOVE these stories and following each and every dogs new journey...

Luna is a lovely girl who has been to our Rescue Dog sitting service twice now while her family was on holiday she is super sweet and loves cuddles, and other dogs 💜💜

The pound has reached out to us to find placements for them so they can be released

The arrangements were made,,
A lovely approved family travelled up to Tauranga to meet,,, only to find at the very last minute that the family decided to place him somewhere else

Although the new adoptees are very upset we understand that they want the best for him but as you know we have many dogs needing homes and it's very disappointing when arranged meets or sign overs are cancelled last minute we put alot of time and effort in finding the perfect homes and all our Adoptions over the years have been successful, and we stay in touch.

We want to help as many as we can!

All the best to Boston and his family ❤️❤️❤️

We know sometimes circumstances change but the Rescue needs to be notified before we make arrangements so we are not mucking anyone around.

We will be covering the costs incurred to the family who travelled from Palmerston north 👍
