Dog Logic - Dog Behaviour Training

Dog Logic - Dog Behaviour Training One on one dog training - Board & train - Dog Talk show - Corporate talks - Workshops. Maree started her working life farming.

To book; several options available https://form.jotform.com/241617840902051 The trainer; Maree as a child was always training all the family pets to do tricks, follow her around, jump over go under or through things. Anything was possible, the animals cats, dog's goats, calves, chickens and whatever else wanted to get in on the fun could. One of her first jobs after that was a vet nurse, not able

to handle people putting their pets to sleep because they said they were "bad" She thought there must be a better way. Maree ran a boarding kennel for about 5 years and watching the behaviour of the dogs became a passion again. Working with many dogs and their humans was enormously rewarding. It was time to leave the boarding kennels and do what her true passion was. She trained with several dog trainers in New Zealand and overseas. Most of the trainers had different ways to train and anything that would harm the dog was instantly dismissed as nothing learns well when in pain and that just made her feel sick. She has done several dog training courses and is always looking at what is happening in the world of dog training. Maree found what has worked with her beliefs and caring nature. Treat training didn't make sense as she had never used it as a child and those animals would do anything for her, also pets don't give each other treats to explain things or train. It is all about going back to nature, understanding your dog, using love and praise. Over the past 27 years of training some things have changed and she is always open to learning new things, however the core of the respect training has stayed the same. Dog training is more than a job it is a passion and as Maree explains it is who she is.

You don't want to train with Aggression or Treats? There is another way, Learn Dog.

Treats or Aggressive training are not your only tools to train your dog! There is a third option. Dog Logic - Dog Behaviour Training

Aggressive training – Just no, do Not be that person!

Treats

It's an amazing way to reward our dog for learning something new and it definitely has its benefits.

However, I would NOT recommend using treats during behaviour work. You must understand the difference between Behaviour training and Obedience/ tricks/ agility etc.

Behaviour training is something you Expect from your dog like; don’t jump up, don’t cross the road, don’t jump out of the car, don’t bite the postie. You Expect you dog will not do these things.

Tricks you must tell your dog each time; jump over that jump, roll over, tricks. Tricks you can use Treat training for.

And the reason why is simple:

By using treats, you're drawing your dog's attention away from his body.

His focus will be on doing the right thing in order to get the treat.

You're basically teaching your dog a trick, not correcting a behaviour.

This is the opposite of what we want.

The purpose of behaviour or focus work is for your dog to feel connected in their body.

To really feel the change in their body and energy, to really make sure they learning how to control their physiology.

You really want your dog to focus on their internal core, energy, feel their own brave.

Even if you were to do everything right in the way you're executing the behaviour patterns and your dog has perfect internal focus...

As soon as you present a treat, that will be lost. Their focus is on the treat not you and not their internal self.

It's an external distraction.

It defeats the purpose of what you are trying to teach.

So next time you’re doing behaviour focus work with your dog, leave the treats aside and focus on his internal relaxation and helping your dog to find their brave!

Our goal here is to always get your dog to look at you to be their savior not have to take on problems themselves.

Be their protector and they will protect you, no matter how big or small they are.

Are you feeling stuck with your dog? You're not alone!

I see it all the time: people struggling with a dog that is reactive, pulls on the lead, or just won’t relax.

And just as often, I hear the same words:

"He’s always been like this."
"Every time I try, it goes wrong."
"He is a rescue"

We repeat these stories. To our trainers, our friends, our family… and worst of all, to ourselves.

And guess what?

The more we tell that story, the more we believe it.

It sticks. You get what you ask for.

In your energy, your body language, your expectations. And your dog feels it.

But here’s the truth. Your dog is not the same as he was yesterday.

And neither are you.

Every walk or every moment with your dog is a chance to do things differently. To shift your mindset, to learn new skills, to create a new outcome.

The past doesn’t define your future, unless you let it.

So, the one thing you should STOP doing if you want to progress with your dog?

Stop telling the old story. Start writing a new one!

Not sure where to begin? Let me help you with that.

Learn Dog, get the connection with your dog using a more natural and practical approach. No harsh methods and no treat training. Enjoy training again.

House sitting details

Hello

I am a mature kiwi female. I enjoy house sitting as I get to move around New Zealand and experience different places and things. (I have a base unit on the North Shore Auckland)

I have had many years experience working with animals from being on a lifestyle block, running a boarding kennel and cattery and being a dog trainer for over 17yrs.

Basic house sitting is free however that depends if there is much to do.
