We’re back on deck, sun-kissed, coffee-fuelled and ready to spoil your cats! A huge thanks to Santina for keeping everything purring while we were away.

From today, all lines are open again (yes, texts too), and it’s business as usual at Paws in Te Puna—cosy cabins, daily cuddles and the same friendly faces.

Today’s the day. Holiday mode starts tonight! We’ll be off from this evening, Tuesday 17 June, and back on Wednesday 25 June.

While we’re soaking up a little R&R, our awesome team member Santina is running Paws in Te Puna. She’ll happily take your calls, emails and in-person visits; only our text line will be offline for the week. Everything else carries on exactly as you expect. Cosy cabins, daily cuddles and top-notch care for every cat.

Need something? Just phone or email Santina and she’ll sort it. See you next week!

Holiday alert! We’re taking a quick break from Tuesday night, 17th June, and will be back on deck Wednesday, 25 June. While we’re away, our superstar Santina will be holding the fort at Paws in Te Puna.

She’s ready to handle calls, emails and in-person visits. Just note that our text line will be on pause for the week. Otherwise, it’s business as usual: the same cosy cabins, cuddles and first-class care for your cats every single day.

Are you looking for casual weekend work in a beautiful rural setting?

We're looking for a Casual Boarding Cattery Operator to help care for our guests at Paws In Te Puna.

Weekend shifts with flexible on-call hours

$24–$26 per hour depending on experience

Full training provided. Just bring your passion for animal care

You’ll be responsible for cleaning, feeding, monitoring, and creating a calm, welcoming environment for our feline guests, while also providing great service to their owners.

If you have experience working with animals and a genuine love for cats, we would love to hear from you.

Meet Luna, our Feline Feature this week! At just 6 months old, she’s full of playful energy and has the sweetest nature.

Luna has the most beautiful markings and a personality to match. She loves spending time with us in the cattery and enjoys exploring the outdoor space, always on the move and full of curiosity.

She’s been a joy to have, and we can’t wait to see how she continues to grow.

Feline Feature – Billy & Buddy

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on the dynamic duo. Billy & Buddy! These two handsome boys are always an absolute treat to have at Paws in Te Puna.

On their recent stay, they were some of the first guests to enjoy our freshly renovated cabin, and they made themselves right at home. Friendly, curious, and full of personality, they never miss a chance to explore, investigate, and check in on what’s happening around them. You can’t help but smile when they’re around.

Billy & Buddy remind us just how special every cat is. It’s the little things, their inquisitive glances, their gentle nature, and their playful energy. That make what we do so rewarding. We truly love the cats who come through our doors, and these two are no exception.

If you’d like to see your cat featured in our Feline Feature, just let us know next time they come to stay. We love sharing the wonderful cats we get to care for.

Louey and Rigsby chilling out in one of our recently upgraded, larger rooms in the cabin . They have their own outdoor deck area and enjoy the cool breeze that comes through the sliding door. This particular room can easily accommodate a family of 2-5 cats.

We now have 4 new inside enclosures !!
With the rush if xmas we didn't get to celebrate the opening of our new inside enclosures, which are located inside the cabin. These enclosures are perfect for winter and designed with older and vulnerable cats in mind . If you wanted to book one of these rooms let us know . We also have 2 larger rooms inside the cabin, which have also been fully renovated and suitable for 2-6+ cats.
Come and check them out, they are the purrrrfect place for your furry family member to stay while you are away.

Our Story

BOARDING RATES

The rate for one cat is $16 per night. The rate for two or more cats sharing a run is $14 per cat per night. Cats from the same family housed in separate runs will be charged $16 per cat per night.

HOLIDAY SURCHARGE

This is $2 per cat per night. It applies on these dates for 2019: January 1 - January 7; January 25 - January 29; February 6; April 12 - April 29; May 31 - June 4; July 5 - July 22; September 27 - October 14; October 25 - October 29; and December 24 - December 31
