Flexarm 101. Have a look at the standard Series Two Buddyrider then with the flexarm both on Kathy's ebike. The standard arm fits and works well and sits lower but there's less room between the seat and Buddyrider as you mount and dismount and you do have to pedal with your knees out a little. But it works well and the majority of my customers are happy with this setup. Note also that the paw deck can't be lowered fully because of the steering head.
The flexarm moves the Buddyrider basket forward and higher above the handlebars. Now you can ride with a natural pedal stroke. Although the flexarm was designed to give greater flexibility when fitting the Buddyrider to a wider range of cycles it has proven popular for the altered riding dynamics.
Note now that the paw deck can be lowered flat. Perfect for long backed breeds.
Finally, the Series One and Series One/Two receivers. The latter fits both Buddyriders and the flexarm and is an extra required when fitting the flexarm to the Series One Buddyrider product. I can take $5 and add free shipping if you need a Flexarm plus the new receiver.

Quite a milestone. I have been supplying the Buddyrider product to our New Zealand market for 5 years now with many hundred happy customers.
The other suppliers are all cycle shops who also sell through their websites.
My business runs from my home and I hold good quantities of all the Buddyrider items. People phone ask if I have any.
" Of course, how many do you want"!
I receive many emails, texts, and phone calls and am happy to work through with them if a Buddyrider will work for their cycle, or breed of dog.
I have regular visits to my home and most go away happily set up with the system that best fits their needs. I have Buddyriders on Kathy's and my ebikes with the regular and flexarm. We live on a long asphalt driveway which is perfect for customers to ride, first with an empty Buddyrider then with the dog riding along. Nearly every dog takes to their Buddyrider experience almost immediately.
If you can't make it to Tauranga, I often direct customers living elsewhere to someone close to them that has a Buddyrider. Buddyrider owners are a wonderful group of people who love the lifestyle and are happy to help others.

Spring is springing and we joined Bethlehem Baptist cycling interest group's ride out to Omokoroa today. Nice conditions on the way out and stopover for coffee. The wind got up on the way home but no rain and a most enjoyable start to our buddy riding season.
The flexarm makes a much more enjoyable riding dynamic with no more knees out pedaling.

We've been working our way up the West Coast. Stayed at NZMCA Hokitika and rode a nice little loop to the South. The trail passes outside the site. We enjoyed coffee and muffin at the Tree Tops facility then rode back to Hokitika via the old gold mining of Rimu where the photo was taken. Truffle getting close to hitting 6000kms in the bike.

We rode 50km around the Otago Harbour Trail yesterday. Head wind down from near the top of the peninsula where we are staying but at our backs thank goodness on the way back. Lovely boat shuttle across from Port Chalmers to Portobello on the return. Truffle getting close to her 6000km Buddyrider badge!

We rode 46km return to Omokoroa for lunch at the Boating Club. Truffle had a couple of runs and a swim on the journey. I rather like the flex arm setup with me able to pedal with straight knees. Our kids drove back leaving same time and we beat them to Bethlehem with them having to stop as we used the pedestrian crossing 😅. Tauranga traffic!

If you have Series One Buddyrider and wish to change to a Flexarm unfortunately you also need to purchase a Series Two receiver.

I've been supplying the Series Two Buddyriders for several months now and in recent weeks the new Flexarm.
I've still been riding with Truffle in a Series One. So thought I had better familiarize myself with what I sell so fitted a Series Two with a Flexarm and we went for a 33km ride this afternoon. As you see in the photo, the Buddyrider sits higher above the handlebars. I could have lowered it a little bit with the two goosenecks but was comfortable with my initial setup. Although the centre of gravity is higher, the bike still felt stable. It was funny looking over the top of Truffles head and ears.
But, the best thing was I can pedal now with my knees now vertical as they were below the Buddyrider.
My setup doesn't require the Flexarm but it does make for an improved riding experience.

49km return with a stop for the photo opportunity at the bridge framing Mt Taranaki. Happy day.
