Is your pet not moving like they used to?

As pets age, changes in mobility can creep in slowly—and it’s not always just “getting older.” Common signs of joint pain or discomfort include:
🔹 Stiffness after resting
🔹 Slower on walks or avoiding stairs
🔹 Reluctance to jump or play
🔹 Subtle behaviour changes like irritability or withdrawal

The good news? There are effective ways we can help. From pain relief and joint support to lifestyle adjustments, our team can create a plan to help your pet stay active and comfortable—no matter the season.

How Acupuncture Helps Animals Heal Naturally
Acupuncture is more than needles—it’s a gentle method that taps into your pet's natural self-healing abilities.

🐾 By stimulating specific points on the body, acupuncture sends signals to the brain and spinal cord to:
• Reduce pain
• Relax the mind
• Improve organ function

🧠 It treats pain by:
• Releasing muscle and fascia tension
• Reducing inflammation
• Triggering the release of pain-relieving chemicals

Safe and subtle, acupuncture feels like a pin prick or dull ache. Most animals stay calm during the treatment.

Available at Vetlife Wanaka and Oxford clinics!

🐾 Did you know? When puppies come in for their 8-week vaccinations, it’s not just about the needles! 💉

Our vets also carry out a full health check to make sure your pup is off to the best possible start.

That includes:
Listening to their heart for any murmurs or abnormalities
Checking jaw alignment and mouth structure
Assessing eye symmetry and head shape
Feeling for umbilical hernias
Confirming both testicles are descended in males
Examining their skin and coat condition

It’s a full nose-to-tail check to ensure your puppy is healthy, thriving, and ready for the next stage of life.
These GSP pups passed with flying colours—some are still looking for their forever homes! 🏡💙

🐾 Bean’s Journey: Lost, found, and finally home🐾

Bean’s adventure is a testament to the power of microchipping and keeping pet details updated!

While backpacking in New Zealand, a French couple met a cozy little cat at a Cromwell campground. Days later, they returned to find him still waiting, cuddling up in the cold. Sensing he needed help, they brought him to Vetlife Wanaka, where we quickly discovered he wasn’t just any cat—he had a family!

His microchip led us to NZCAR, where we learned his name was Bean, missing from Queenstown since Easter. One phone call later, his family was overwhelmed with joy, and his kids were crying happy tears—Bean was finally coming home!

This heartwarming reunion proves how vital microchipping and updated records are. Without them, Bean might never have made it back.

📸 Pictured: Bean reunited with his dad at the Vetlife Wanaka clinic, ready to head home where he belongs.

From weight trends and heart rate to bloodwork and behaviour patterns, tracking these details helps vets detect subtle shifts early—before they turn into major health problems. Early detection means faster treatment and a better quality of life!
