Due to several of our team members currently experiencing illness, we have had to make the decision to shut the clinic today. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause. If you have a patient in need of urgent care this weekend, please contact the Hawkes Bay After Hours Emergency clinic in Hastings (06)6517103. Our clinic will resume normal hours at 8am on Monday morning. Thank you for your understanding.

Most clients and associates of the clinic will know Dr Heather as the friendly, unassuming vet looking after our patients…. But Heather has ‘double life’ - she also manages a grueling training program and competes as a professional triathlete both locally and internationally. Here she is seen competing in the recent NZ Iron man in Taupo. We are super proud of you Heather!

What an experience at my first Ironman New Zealand 🥵

It wasn’t the day I’d hoped for with a few struggles on the bike and I had almost convinced myself I didn’t want to do the run, but next thing I knew I’d put my shoes on and had rushed out to face a sea of familiar faces yelling my name. The run was always going to be the best part anyway but all the support from friends, family, fellow athletes, strangers and even dogs ( ) made it all worthwhile. Whilst I’m disappointed in my own performance I was proud to have stuck it out and to hear “you are an Ironman” as I crossed the finish line.

I’ll flesh out my day in more detail in due course, but for now I just want to send the biggest thank you to everyone in my corner. Your support means the world to me and it was you guys who got me through the day yesterday ❤️

We are pleased to announce to our clients the opening of the Hawkes Bay Urgent Care & After Hours Veterinary Clinic.

The team at Urgent Care will be available to see patients of Taradale Vet Hospital needing emergency assistance outside of our clinic’s open hours.

⏰ Wondering When After-Hours Care Starts? ⏰

Our after-hours service operates Monday to Friday from 6 PM until 8 AM the following morning. We also offer 24-hour emergency care over the weekends and public holidays!

📍 You can find us at 103 Grays Road, St Leonards, Hastings 4120.

Before arriving, please give us a call at 06 651 7103 so we’re prepared to assist your pet. We triage patients based on medical priority, ensuring that those in life-threatening conditions receive immediate care.

We’re here for your pets, whenever you need us! 🐾

Unfortunately, due to illness within our team, veterinarians in particular, the clinic will be closed on short notice tomorrow, Saturday the 18th November. Should you have an EMERGENCY or your pet requires URGENT medical care, please call (027)4465865 to be triaged by the clinic/vet who is kindly covering for Taradale Vet Hospital at this trying time. We appreciate your understanding and support at this time. The clinic will re-open at 8am on Monday morning. All after-hours emergencies will continue to be managed over the weekend as usual by one of the Napier on-call veterinarians. Thank you.
