Each and every day of the year - come rain, come shine - our amazing group of Horse-Checker volunteers come to check up on our horses, top up their feed and ensure they are safe and well.
Occasionally, they get a reward from Mother Nature and have even managed to capture it for all of us to see.

A huge thank you to Lily (7), who instead of presents for her recent birthday, asked her friends if they could make a donation to NSRDA on her behalf. Lily and her brother Max then spent the morning seeing what we do at NSRDA and also helping out with some jobs whilst they were here.

Megan started riding with North Shore RDA at the end of last year and shared the following:- "It is one of the best highlights of my week. Itā€™s been fun getting to know Missy, who I ride every week, and also my team of wonderful volunteers, we always have a good laugh. Itā€™s been great being out of my ā€˜comfort zoneā€™ (I live with MS and spend a large part of my time indoors) and the team are always encouraging me to do more each ride. I always sleep well that night, glutes alive with the workout and having good grounding through Missy. Being out in nature for the hour leaves me feeling physically, mentally and emotionally better. Itā€™s a great service and Iā€™m so happy a friend recommended it to me"

Recently, we held our first celebratory event of our 50th Anniversary Year - a special Lunch where we invited sponsors, donors and other supporters, together with our Life Members and 10-Year Volunteers.
Our National Chief Executive also attended and presented our President, Christine, with a special plaque marking our 50 Years of community service.
The whole event was MC'd by our Ambassador, Tom Webster (of NZ Grand Designs fame).
Our heartfelt thanks to all who have supported us over the decades, whether that be through volunteering their time and talent, or through gifting us donations that help us meet our overheads. Every little helps!
