Our SPCA Kid's Photography Competition is BACK - with an iPad and 5 digital cameras up for grabs thanks to our friends at Xtreme Productivity! 🤩📸

This competition is a fun and creative way for the young people in your life to get behind the lens! This year's theme is 'Animals Being Animals' - so we want to see photos of animals showing off their natural behaviours! Think: cats scratching, dogs digging, goats climbing or ducks splashing 🙌

Whether the star of the photoshoot is a household pet, a farm animal, or animal in the wild, entries need to be in by Sunday 12 October. With a chance to win an Apple iPad or 1 of 5 digital cameras, it's time to get snapping!

Hi there!
I just wanted to write to let you know Tiny Teddy settled in really well. Took her all of 30 seconds to decide she would be sleeping on the bed 😂
She was playing fetch and running around the yard crazy with our goat during the day and then snuggled up to watch tv in the evening (she really likes watching tv!).
We've named her Nola and she is already responding to her name. 😊
We're thrilled to have her become part of our little clan of misfits!

Copper is one of long stay residents currently living his best life in a loving foster home.

Copper came to us in September 2024 terribly malnourished, neglected and terrified of people.
Almost a year later and this boy is absolutely thriving🥰
Copper is a social butterfly toward both humans and other canines! He loves meeting new people and is a gentle and affectionate soul. He gets along with most doggos, he is a “puppy master” and is always up for making new friends🐶
Since being with his foster dad, Copper has learnt the ins and outs of living in a home environment and has been taught the importance of good dog manners!❤️

**An update for Holden, the last of his litter to leave us** Cheers Kerry and Steve🫶🐈🐾
Hi Team
Just a quick update on HOLDEN who we adopted 2 weekends ago.
Now named BISCUIT, he has really started to live life - he is best friends with our 18month old cat Reacher which is a huge relief! They cause chaos every evening, and Biscuit puts up a good fight when Reacher gets too rough! He's not an overly curious kitty, nor is he a big explorer yet, but he sure loves to play!
Biscuit has been venturing out to the back lawn this week and it's opened up a whole new world, his confidence is growing every day.
When he's not operating at 100kph, he is napping hard (which is a relief to Reacher!) but he is a really awesome kitty and super stoked to have adopted him.

**An update on Kahi who was one of our longest stay cats at the time and a very shy girl** Cheers Desire and fam ♥🐾
Kia ora – just one more short update for you on Kahi. As you can see from the attached pic Kahi has settled in really well with our whanau. She is such a character, and both Kahi and Raven have an understanding – knowing when to give each other space and when it’s playtime – usually 11.30-midnight zoomies.
We are so glad we got to bring her home; we all love her 😍

**An update on Cucumber now Mama** thanks so much Piriana and Whanau ♥🐈🐈♥
Cucumber has settled in nicely to her new home. She’s been the perfect addition to our whanau and is so full of life. I recently discovered that she responds to mama so that is what we now call her. She’s a gentle love bug, always asking for scratches and cuddles. She really is a mature little lady who has a fun side once she gets to know you. Absolutely love her and so glad we get to share this life with her ☺️

Meet Butter, Popcorn and Batgirl!
🖤🤍🖤🤍

This gorgeous trio of sisters came to us as 12 week old spicy, hissy young kittens!!🌶️
But with lots of handling, foster care and encouragement these girls have mellowed out into lovely young cats.
Though still a little on the shy side, they each have their affectionate moments and love to chat away to you.
Now seven months old, this trio are our longest staying felines!❤️‍🩹
