🐾 The Whole Dog Matters 🐾
Over the years, I've been fortunate to become a Certified Master Groomer, NZ Groom team competitor, educator, trainer,ambassador, author, and grooming competition judge.
But the more I learn, the more I realise there is still so much to understand about the dogs we care for.
For me, grooming has never been just about creating a beautiful haircut. It's about understanding behaviour, body language, skin and coat health, choosing the right products, recognising each dog's individual needs, and knowing when to adjust our expectations.
Every dog is different. Every dog has limits. Every dog deserves to be treated with kindness, patience, and respect.
A beautiful finish is wonderful, but never at the expense of the dog's wellbeing. As dogs age, comfort often becomes more important than perfection, and that's okay.
At Sparkles, we don't just groom dogs. We advocate for them, educate their families, and always strive to do what is best for the dog in front of us. 💜
