There’s this old, tired idea that riding is about control. That dressage is about making the horse submit. Taming the wild. Forcing precision.

But here’s the truth:

You don’t ride to break the horse. You ride so 𝑦𝑜𝑢 don’t break.

Because the horse isn’t the chaos. You are.

Your fear. Your tension. Your ego. Your overthinking.
Every crooked thought runs straight down the reins.
And the horse? He doesn’t care about your excuses. He shows you exactly who you are.

So you learn to breathe. To feel. To listen more than you speak.
You learn to hold your position in the storm.
You learn to ride into the fire, not to dominate it, but to survive it.

Dressage doesn’t make you perfect.
Done right, it makes you unbreakable.

Not because you control everything. But because you learn to hold your seat when everything falls apart.

It’s not about who you are when the ride begins, it’s who you are when you dismount.

Posting about helmet safety again because it’s important. 🧠⚠️

Please remember:
• Do your own research.
• You are nothing without your brain.
• Not all helmets are made equal.
• Pretty ≠ Safe.
• Popular ≠ Safe.

Salespeople are there to sell helmets. Even though they believe in their products, they’re working with data provided by the companies that make the helmets. That’s not always the full story.

👉 There are only a very small number of organizations that test helmets independently — with no sales, branding, or profit motives behind them. Virginia Tech Helmet Ratings is one of them!

🚫 A helmet being legal does not mean it’s the best.
🚫 A helmet being popular does not mean it’s safe.
🚫 When you fall off, you won’t care what your helmet looked like — you’ll care whether it worked.

Now Taking Bookings for Lessons & Schooling in Ōtaki – Starting July 2025

I’m pleased to announce that I will be available for coaching and schooling in the Ōtaki area from July 2025.

For those who don’t know me, I am a 5* event rider with nearly 20 years of experience in the saddle and over 5 years of coaching experience. I’m passionate about helping riders progress and enjoy teaching all ages and experience levels—particularly those who have already established the basics and are ready to take the next step in their riding.

I also offer horse schooling tailored to individual needs, from foundational work with young horses—including handling, groundwork, and float training—to breaking in, advanced schooling, and addressing behavioural or performance challenges. I believe every horse wants to do the right thing—it’s simply a matter of clear, patient communication and guidance.

Please note: At this stage, I am offering lessons on your own horse and schooling services at your property or grazing facility.

Very sad I missed out on the National 3DE this year down in CHCH due to work 😢 it looked like an amazing event 😍

Very sad to not be at Horse of the Year this year! With work becoming extremely busy this year I have had to let competition take a back seat for a couple of months.
Good luck to everyone competing this year! I will be excitedly watching the results 🦄❤️

2 year old horses are funny looking animals… Ducky (AKA Coroglen Houdini) is going to be a stunning (and hopefully talented) horse! But at the moment he is a funny looking sweet heart! He is currently 15.2/15.3hh and I can’t wait to continue to watch him grow into himself! Ducky is by ES Draco Obolensky ( ) out of our TB mare Coroglen Lunar Eclipse 😍🦄

Our next super star? Rou is 2 months old now 😍 We have 3 foals due this year, a full sibling to Rou (pictured), a full sibling to Ra (Coroglen Aurora), and a Lexi (Just de Manzana) baby in a surrogate mare 😍 it will be a very exciting breeding/foaling season at the end of this year! Everyone please keep your fingers crossed for 3 healthy babies 😍😍
