The Border Collie is widely considered the most intelligent dog breed in the world! Some Border Collies can learn the names of over 1,000 different toys and objects and retrieve them on command.
One famous Border Collie, Chaser, learned the names of more than 1,000 words, making her one of the smartest dogs ever studied by scientists.
🧠 Fun bonus fact: Border Collies were originally bred to herd sheep, so many still have a strong instinct to "herd" things including children, other pets, and sometimes even vacuum cleaners!
