✨Our star patient of the week is Oska!✨

Oska is a Swiss Shepherd - she is a bit over one year old so she came in to be spayed a couple of weeks ago.

Oska was a little bit nervous back when she was a puppy visiting us, but thanks to low stress visits, training and handling by her Mum and Dad, and being a big grown up doggo now, she was super calm and relaxed for her visit for her operation. She was also very happy to come again for her post op check this week which is exactly what we aim for with our low stress handling and our top-notch pain management!

Meet beautiful Mousse 🐾❤️

Mousse came in to visit us as she had been limping when she ran. She had also been hiding a lot and had licked patches of fur off both front legs. She is only 8 years old, so she should be happy and active.

We needed to investigate further 👀.

We ran pre anesthetic blood tests to check her overall health.
Mousse then had X-rays under light sedation - We found significant arthritis in both elbows!

Lucky for Mousse, she is now signed up to our Spring Pets Wellness Plan which helps to spread the cost and allows us to provide top quality care. 🍃

Star Patients of the Week: Amber & Eden! 💫

Beautiful Amber (left) came in this week for her arthritis injection and a full check up with Cherie. At twelve and a half years old, Amber appreciated the cozy blanket we lay down for her in the consult room to make her visit a little more enjoyable.

Amber brought along her best friend, Eden (right), for moral support. Ten year old Eden also loved the snuggly blanket, and the treats after her weight check!

Puppy Vaccination Spotlight - Meet Vivid! 🐶

Recently we welcomed the sweetest little pup for her very first vaccination - and she was such a brave girl! 🌟

With Christmas just around the corner, now is the perfect time to make sure your puppies and dogs are protected. Many pets will be heading into boarding kennels while families travel, and kennels in New Zealand require up-to-date vaccinations to keep all dogs safe.

🐾🦋 Your playtime is served, Madam 😻

✨The death of our elderly coffee machine bought an unexpected bonus in the form of a fantastic piece of packaging that we turned into a play box for Stella this weekend ✨

❤️We put treats in the holes along with scrunched up paper and It kept our lovely Stella occupied for ages - one very happy kitty ❤️

👀Play is really good for cats - it provides exercise, satisfies their instincts and provides stimulation to prevent boredom and frustration.

😅Did you know a cat will usually play for between one and five minutes each session? If your cat only plays with something for a minute that might be all they need!

🤡Changing and circulating toys helps - choose things that are bright, feathery, rustly and move or can be moved. If your cat is into catnip (Stella and Hans are!) then adding this can improve stimulation. Toys don't need to be expensive, get creative!

😍 It was our lucky day on Friday with a visit from NINE gorgeous German Shorthaired Pointer puppies!! 🥰

💞 They were so full of fun and cuddles - Cherie, Jahdiel and Haidee had a ball introducing them to veterinary visits💖

💉 None of them felt their injections thanks to a bit of treat-magic, so hopefully they will be happy to visit again next time 💖
