🍃Your pet can't tell you what hurts - we can.

This is Charlie 😍

Charlie recently came for a check up with Dr Dione at Spring Vets Papamoa. He was reluctant to let Dione look at his head and it turned out he had a very nasty infection in his lip folds. The infection was causing ulceration which was painful, no wonder he didn't want anyone to look at it!

Charlie's owners tried various medical managements but the bacteria would not be deterred due to a combination of conformation (the large crease in the lips we often seen in this breed) and the bacteria themselves being resistant to antibiotics.
Dr Dione took Charlie to surgery and resected the lip folds - problem solved!

Charlie is now much more comfortable and no longer head shy - a scale and polish is next on the To Do list ❤

🍃Meet Robbie - he is a beautiful soul who is a perfect example how well animals can adjust when they need to!

Robbie has had a lot of trouble with his eyes due to a combination of infectious disease and breed predisposition. As a result he lost one eye as a much younger cat and had a lot of scarring on the other eye. Recently his remaining eye abruptly deteriorated and we had to make the decision to remove it. Robbie lives a lovely sedate life with his older owner and has adapted very quickly to being completely blind, as many pets do.

This is Robbie not long after his surgery - he is very comfortable and relaxed, and such a sweet heart! Dr Cherie was honored to have loves from him as he adjusted to his new reality ❤

🍃Spring Vets Papamoa is ONE YEAR OLD!🎉

This week we have celebrated our first birthday, and what an incredible year it has been!

We are so grateful to the many wonderful clients who trusted us enough to follow us from our previous practice, and to all the new clients and pets who have joined the Spring Vets family over the past 12 months.

This year has been filled with happy moments, successful treatments, wagging tails, purrs, and plenty of puppy and kitten cuddles. We've shared in the joy of welcoming new family members and celebrating health milestones. We've also had the privilege of supporting families through some difficult goodbyes, helping honour the lives of much-loved pets who will never be forgotten.

To every client who has trusted us with their pets' care, thank you. Your support has helped make our first year more successful than we could have imagined.

We are incredibly proud of what we've built so far and are excited about what the future holds for Spring Vets Papamoa.

Here's to many more years of caring for the pets of our community. ❤️🐾

Shout out to Kane at for the awesome blinds he has installed for us at Spring Vets Papamoa recently!

We love the light in our reception area but it gets a bit much in the afternoons now that daylight savings has finished - we asked Kane to help us with a solution and he has installed these excellent, effective and discreet blinds with no mess and no fuss!
