Hi everyone,
My last post for Winter 2022!!! With Spring arriving tomorrow there has already been a rush of people looking to get their dogs groomed as the weather begins to warm up. Added into the mix has been the sudden closure of another local grooming establishment, I have been inundated with messages and calls from people wanting to make bookings for their dogs! So, I just wanted to touch base with those of you following and searching up the page to let you know a couple of things:
1. Your dogs’ comfort and safety are top priorities for me. I try my best to deliver a style as described by an owner but if a dog is tangled, matted and overgrown to a point where it can’t be brushed out without causing excessive pain and/or distress, your dog may end up with a shorter than desired haircut. I promise, it WILL grow back!
2. I work alone and exclusively on one dog at time. I can only work for 5 ½ hours a day while my daughter is at school. A full groom takes on average 2 to 2.5 hours, plus sanitising in between each dog, so the maximum number of grooms I can do per day is just 2. I do not have a “Late Night”, nor do I work on weekends. My family is also a high priority for me.
3. I do expect that you will collect your dog promptly after their groom. I will give you an expected time for completion when the dog is dropped off and I will message you on your phone to confirm when the dog’s groom has been completed. I cannot offer daycare services for your dog without registering for a council permit, so I have to stay with them until you collect them to ensure their safety. When they are not picked up promptly this means I can miss out on getting a lunch break between customers and, on multiple occasions, I have had to cancel my own personal plans or appointments because I am still supervising a dog.
4. Dog Grooming is often noisy (with clippers and blowdryers) and also precise work (with sharp scissors). Therefore, I do not answer my phone or check for text or Facebook messages once I have started working on a dog. Your dog has my undivided attention from the time they arrive, until they are handed back to you. If you message me styling information after the dog has been dropped off, I will not see it until the dog is complete. This is also why it is easier for me if you can view and request appointments directly from the “Book Now” button on the page, so that they are immediately reserved when you request them.
5. Rebooking your dog at regular intervals means that you will always be able to get the appointment you want. I hate having to tell people I can’t fit them in but the demand is becoming higher than is manageable. I am having to consider closing the books to any new customers to avoid disappointment for regular customers. Please consider making another booking once one is complete or at the very least 2-3 weeks before your dog needs it.
Enjoy the warmer weather – Happy Spring Everyone!
