Meet Diesel and Odin these 2 sweet pups have come into care today.
A few weeks ago I said we will have a 2 week break well I was almost right. 2 days shy of the 2 weeks and we heard about the pups who needed us.
Their story is short and one that's all too common. Someone handed them to 2 girls while they were out. The girls did the right thing they got help from their family who got help from others and we got involved. After a quick trip to Rotorua then home again these boys are all settled in for the night. Thanks again to the girls and their family for taking such great care of the pups until we could get there. You guys are awesome, if only the world had more people like you.
Pups were flea and worm treated as soon as I met them given some food and water packed into their crate for traveling safely and now home they have blankets heat pads toilet area and more. They will be off to our amazing vets this week for their 1st vaccination and microchip and stay in quarantine until they're ready for adoption.
We assume they are approx 5 weeks old and probably mastiff x.
Diesel is a polydactyl (remember the kittens with the extra toes well Diesel has them too). We learnt something today.... They call it polydactyl in dogs too.
We also learnt some breeds do have the extra toes often used to help with the terrain they walk in. Whatever the reason Diesel has the extra toes so our vet will have the fun job of checking him over fully this week.
If you'd like to help with their vaccinations etc feel free to pop a donation into our account or our vet account. Tomorrow we will be ordering more food and everything else we may need for them.
Our break has been nice but the house has been so quiet and Myles has been miserable without his friends so he will be happy when he gets to meet them in a week.
If you'd like to express your interest in the pups feel free to make contact and we can send you an application. For now however they need to rest and grow a bit before they even consider moving out of here.
