Merry Christmas to all the puppies and kittens who have touched our hearts and filled our home with their good and bad times this past year
Merry Christmas also to all who have adopted from us this year who have opened their homes and hearts taking in an new family member who needed their love and support.
We can't thank you all enough for what you've done for each animal.

Merry Christmas also to all our followers and others who have gone above and beyond for us this year.

To all the staff of Hauraki Vets Paeroa thank you so so much for all you've done for our animals this year. From simple vaccinations and microchips to desexing of kittens, we are grateful for all you guys do for us and our animals.

To Kirsty Michele and Michael from A4dibble Pet Transport thank you isn't enough but thanks for all you do for us. From the first pup we entrusted to you guys I cant think of using anyone else.

We wish you all and all our followers and behind the scenes supporters who donate to us or our vet account regularly there's honestly too many to name individually. Have a safe and happy Christmas period with those you wish to spend time with.

One last thing thanks to those who reached out for help with their animals they are now in amazing homes or are growing to move out to homes. It takes a village and we couldn't do what we do without your help and support.

Meet Midnight
12 Weeks old

Midnight is a sweet boy who acts more like a dog than a cat which is funny as he doesn't like dogs. He loves his toys and will happily play fetch, proudly pouncing around with a toy in his mouth. He doesn't like when his siblings try join in the fun, but once he’s done playing, he enjoys spending time with them.

He will need to get used to brushing as he is medium/long fur which will get knotty if left.
His new family must be committed to doing the brushing and possibly occasional grooming sessions (sanitary groom).

😺 Adoption includes:
•Desexing
• 1st vaccination
• Microchip (registered on NZCAR)
• up to date with flea and worm treatment
• A months free pet insurance with pet-n-sure

We've had a pretty sad day here.
We had to say goodbye to wee Flint. The vets said even with his improvement in his eyes it wasn't enough for him so it's kinder to let him go. So with breaking hearts and tears we stayed with him as he was put to sleep.
The other 2....
One will lose an eye wee Gypsy but we will wait until she's big enough. In the mean time we are fundraising.
As for our other boy he's got scaring on his eyes which could reduce. Fingers are crossed 🤞 or it stays the same.

These 2 remaining kittens are going to need the most special homes out.
Obviously they're not ready yet.
Our amazing Koda (my daughter who runs Facebook for us) has worked so hard getting the 3 kittens to improve to where they are today. Koda I thank you so much for all you do for the animals and our rescue. Today is definitely one of the bad days in rescue.

Meet Dustin a 10 week old looking for his forever home

Dustin is a sweet little boy with a confident, outgoing nature. He loves playing with the other kittens and zooming around the house and gets along well with other cats. He doesn’t mind the dogs either.

He can be a bit startled by loud noises and may need a little time to settle into a new home. When he first arrived, he was very shy, but once he realized he was safe his loving, playful personality came through. With a patient adopter he will blossom just the same.

Meet Benny a 10 week old tabby looking for his forever home.

Benny came to us after being adopted off a free page, only for the family to want him gone the very next day simply for being a kitten.

He is a sweet boy who loves to play with all sorts of toys but is still shy so will take some time to warm up to you. He wasn't sure about the other kittens to start with but has become friends with Dustin so could be ok with another cat in the house with the right introduction. He would suit a quieter home and is fine with our calm dogs.

They were found at a farm property and taken to the vets and sent to us for care. They are only 3 weeks old but are happy, healthy kittens.

Meet Gypsy, Ronan, and Flint — three of the sickest kittens we’ve cared for in a long time. They are battling cat flu and are in quarantine, away from our other kittens. Things are touch and go, but they have shown a little improvement.

They currently weigh between 317-385g.

These brave little fighters arrived just two days ago thanks to a kind lady who found them and reached out, making sure they would get the care they needed.

We’ll keep you updated on their progress and are hoping for the best possible outcome.
