Breeding Technician Assistant (Seasonal)

Targeted Breeding is looking for someone to join us for the breeding season. The role involves travelling with Reuben to assist with embryo transfer and AI programs, plus helping at our Oamaru centre with donor management, feeding, and general stock care.
We’re after someone with attention to detail, confident stockmanship, practical, reliable, and happy to travel during the season.

📍 Based in Oamaru with travel around the South Island
⏳ Seasonal, full‑time during breeding season

🌟Preliminary Embryo results🌟

Today we scanned 79/82 of our recips (3 managed to escape the drafting gate). Majority are "42" days pregnant taking into account the growth done in the lab and 34 days post implant. Our best performing group this year were the naturals with Busybrook Mason Olivia but we must give credit to the TVR cidrs coming second! We had no luck with Longview Odelle so she is looking at retirement from flushing.

We also must give credit to one our cows 722 who 7 days prior to embryo transfer was doing 2.85 solids on her herd test and still managed to hold!

Realistically we expect a couple more slips as it's all part of the process.

We are looking forward to some healthy calves on the ground EARLY next season and hopefully some more polled calves! More importantly the donor dams will be joining us next season!
