⭐ Saving the Best for Last – Excellence for Arbek Pony Stud

Bec Kerr certainly chose to finish on a high note. Scoring a fantastic 80.5% and earning an Excellence Award, the final foal presented was Arbeck Be Sheen — imported in utero and already proving the depth and intent behind the Arbek breeding programme.

She is by Charlie Sheen 5 out of TF All Hallows Eve, the Australian-imported mare by Black Charming WE out of an FS Don’t Worry mare. This pedigree really reflects the serious investment Rebecca has made into quality pony bloodlines — carefully selecting mares and stallions with modern type, athletic movement, and proven sport performance behind them.

This foal showed real presence and quality, with a confident, athletic way of going and the kind of movement you want to see in a future dressage pony.

Rebecca was understandably thrilled to come away with an Excellence Award — a fitting result after presenting three very strong foals and showcasing the direction she’s taking Arbek Pony Stud.

Keeping the momentum going, Bec Kerr's second foal also stepped straight into the Merit category.

Arbek Summer Surprise is a striking c**t by resident sire Golden Strike, out of the riding pony mare Summer Gift by Kirkwood Backlight.

This c**t is a really eye-catching type — elegant, and very much what you hope to see when blending proven riding pony blood with a modern German Riding Pony stallion. He presents with lovely proportions and a neat, balanced outline, and again shows the consistency Golden Strike is stamping across his progeny.

Final Dunedin Venue – Arbek Pony Stud, Momona 🐴✨

Our final stop in Dunedin was at Arbek Pony Stud, home of Bec Kerr — and what a fantastic way to round out the southern leg.
Not only did Rebecca present three pony foals, she also very generously hosted us in her indoor arena. Always appreciated on tour!

Arbek Pony Stud is based in Momona, Otago, where NZ Warmblood Ponies with German Riding Pony blood are bred with a clear goal — modern, athletic ponies with trainability, temperament and movement to excel in dressage or as quality all-rounders.

Standing the resident German Riding Pony stallion Golden Strike, Rebecca’s programme is built on thoughtful pairings and long-term improvement of the breed here in New Zealand.

Rebecca says, "Honestly? I love ponies. Everyone should have a German Riding Pony. They are quite simply the best." 🥰

🏆 First Foal Presented – Arbek Joe DiMaggio

Kicking things off was Arbek Joe DiMaggio, who stepped straight into the Merit pool with 79.5%.

This classy c**t is by Golden Strike, out of the imported mare Roseglen Aphrodite — a purposeful cross aimed at producing a modern sport pony with quality and presence.

Joe DiMaggio is a lovely, balanced type with good proportions and very much fits the modern German Riding Pony model.

A strong start to the day and a great reflection of the direction Arbek Pony Stud is heading.
