I’ve been a bit quiet on here recently but I’ve been focussed on getting a few weddings out post storm recovery. These photos remind me of why I love doing what I do. I’ll admit it was a wee bit stressful getting the all of the flowers I needed but once I did it was pure creativity and flow. Thanks to my flower friends Petal & Twig Julie | The Pickery | Flower Farm, Upper Hutt, Wellington Gaylene | FogbowFlowers for additional blooms and Teri Wilkinson for the exquisite silk ribbon.

I have to confess that the past couple of weeks have been a bit rough. The storm with its vicious winds hammered my flowers. Stems were broken & ripped out of the ground, cosmos turned black, tender seedlings vanished. All of my careful succession planning and planting all wiped out. I was feeling flush with summer abundance in the week of Valentine’s Day and now I have next to nothing. In the days after the storm I cut back damage and fed the soil. It’s only now that I have signs of recovery. And it will recover. I’ve managed to get one important order out today which is a huge relief. A huge thank you goes to Susy who provided much needed support and blooms to make it happen. Where would we be without our flower friends?🌸

A late January DIY Wedding Bucket is full of the best of mid summer. The rain, whilst tedious for the holidaymakers and active relaxers among us, has been glorious for flower growth. Roses, dahlias, zinnias and cosmos are wonderful at the moment. If you’d like a bunch send me a DM and you can have your own slice of summer in a vase.

An extra special bouquet for a friend who’s heading to warmer climes to start a new chapter. Boy, she will be missed by so many here on the peninsula. Can’t keep a free spirit from flying💚.

Dreamy white DIY wedding buckets are a joy to put together. With the colour set it becomes a creative exercise of choosing contrasting textures and flower types. White is not always pure white so there can be beautifully barely there soft hints - a little lime, a touch of palest yellow. I know there will be great joy and creativity flowing when the bridal florals are put together. Wishing you a lovely day tomorrow CC🌸
