The Flower Friends.
Susy from , Ann from and me, Lucy from .
We have collaborated for a few years now and this Saturday weā€™re doing our first market together - this Saturday 10-2pm. Weā€™re all small suburban flower farmers with a passion for growing and sharing flowers. Weā€™re all seed addicts and frequently ā€˜enableā€™ each otheršŸ˜‚. We all dream of growing on more land but we think weā€™ve got the next best thing - flower power together.
I wouldnā€™t be without them on my flower journey.

I picked myself a few roses - fully blown loveliness in my favourite peachy and blush tones. Iā€™m a bit sad weā€™ve come to the end of ranunculus season but, thankfully, roses have started to fill the void. Whilst theyā€™re not as long lasting as ranuncs they offer beautiful ruffly petals and sweet fragrance. I donā€™t have many but I love each onešŸ§”

After a few years of using a seatbelt to secure my buckets of flowers when delivering - I have employed my partner to do a custom designed crate for me. Itā€™s laser cut so itā€™s quick-ish job putting one together so Iā€™m planning to make a few. Whilst we usually love using ply - boy, do we like fancy ply!) this gave me a chance to use strandboard which I have fancied for a long time. Itā€™s big enough to hold two buckets without fear of the dreaded spills that I have experienced a few times- in slow motionšŸ˜‚.

Since announcing the start of my flower season a couple of days ago Iā€™ve been blown away by the support and orders. It has been the boost I needed as I juggle the demands of family and my ā€˜realā€™ jobs with flower growing.
My passion for it and all things gardening is so intrinsically part of me - Iā€™m thrilled when every bunch I make heads out into the world taking my joy in growing them with them.

This blustery afternoon I managed to get a few important jobs done. Horizontal netting went on over stock, Pennycress, cornflowers & snaps. I sowed dahlia seeds and heaped praise upon the ranunculus. Bunches are not too far away now. Iā€™ll keep you postedšŸ¤©
