Wexford Weekly - 17/11 🏇 The past week saw two more names added to the Wexford winner’s whiteboard!

L’AIGLE NOIR delivered on the promise he’s shown at home, with a smart fresh-up win at Arawa Park on Sunday. He’s a horse the team believe is up to stakes company, and it might not be long before he’s lining up in those better 3YO races. CRACKERCOL continued his rise, bringing back-to-back wins for owner Jill Devine. Both boys have pulled up safe and well.

We also had several pleasing performances over the weekend. YAMATO SATONA put in another top effort, finishing 2nd in the 3YO contest at Tauranga, following a short break from racing. He’s right on target for bigger things next month. OPHOPE WINS and GENKI were both flashing home at Arawa Park on debut. Both are bred to excel over longer distances, so seeing them show a good turn of foot over shorter trips was encouraging.

On Thursday, the team headed to the Ready To Run Sales. We secured four standout types – three horses syndicated for the barn, and a fourth on behalf of our Hong Kong-based clients. Heading to Wexford, we have our Ardrossan filly, El Roca filly, and Xtravagant gelding. A big thank you to everyone who showed interest – it was fantastic to see so many familiar and new faces joining us! With syndicates filling within a matter of hours, we did have a number of people who missed out however. The team will be purchasing once again at the Karaka Yearling Sales, and we strongly recommend registering your interest early – we're not doing the hard sell when we say these horses syndicate FAST.

Register your interest for Karaka 2026 via: https://www.wexfordstables.co.nz/shares-available/

The team also had a good day at the Avondale trials on Thursday. HANKEE ALPHA and PEERLESS are right on track for a promising summer, while IVY’S DANCER is a maiden you can follow with a bit of confidence.

The racing only gets better from here team. Let's bring it on!

His name translates to ‘The Black Eagle’, and today L’AIGLE NOIR soared above the rest to land a convincing win at Arawa Park 🦅

The talented c**t was ridden by Craig Grylls and strapped by Pratap Singh. A big congratulations to owners Mark Chitty, Anne Marie de Spa and Charles Hall.

The team heads to Arawa Park - Rotorua Racecourse today, with a number of horses on the truck 🏇

CAPTAIN ROY (pictured) (Lynsey Satherley, barrier 1) will line up in race 1 at 12.25pm. He put in a real improvers race in a very strong maiden fresh up. With a good draw, he should be vastly improved this weekend.

STAYINTOUCH (Joe Doyle, barrier 9) will also line up in race 1. She went a good race fresh up, has taken improvement from that run and can go close here today.

L'AIGLE NOIR (Craig Grylls, barrier 11) will line up in race 2 at 1pm. He’s trialed well, is a very talented type and we believe he’ll kick off his 3YO campaign today in a positive manor.

LA CABRA (Joe Doyle, barrier 1) will also line up in race 2. She’s trialed well and worked nicely heading into today. She has high levels of confidence from the trials and we’re expecting a competitive debut. A shower or two may aid her chances.

VIVACE (Niranjan Parmar, barrier 15) will line up in race 3 at 1.32pm. No luck with the barrier draw, but he's raced well at Rotorua in the past. He’ll need good fortune from the wide gate, but if he gets it, his first one is usually his best one.

GENKI (Jasmine Fawcett, barrier 18) will also line up in race 3. A staying type making his debut today, he'll take good improvement with the raceday experience and is one to watch once he gets out over a mile.

OHOPE WINS (Joe Doyle, barrier 10) will line up in race 4 at 2.08pm. A promising staying filly making her debut, we think she’ll make her presence felt here, with improvement to come. She's one to keep an eye on over the summer months.

ACER (George Rooke, barrier 6) will line up in race 5 at 2.48pm. Now out to a distance that she’s genetically bred to be most competitive at. She’s needed both runs in this prep, we’ve altered her gear and believe it will have her a lot more compeititve today. She’s better than recent form suggests.

Can’t let big brother take all the glory! CRACKERCOL, the little brother to WAITAK, is paving his winning way, bringing up back-to-back wins today at Tauranga 🥇

A big congratulations to owner Jill Devine on yet another win from your talented family. ‘Cracker’ was ridden by Warren Kennedy and strapped by Emily Farr.

The team heads to Tauranga today, and there's a theme! All four horses on the truck are last start winners 🌟

YAMATO SATONA (pictured) (Triston Moodley, barrier 4) will line up in race 3 at 1.35pm. He's taken good confidence with the winning debut under his belt. He'll enjoy the ground, will be flying home and hopefully can repeat the dose.

WAIATA (Triston Moodley, barrier 12) has been scratched.

SHE'S ALL THAT (Warren Kennedy, barrier 8 ) will line up in race 5 at 2.43pm. Another that will enjoy the ease in the ground, she's flying on the training track at home and will parade looking a picture of health. We believe she's a touch better going right-handed than left and there's no reason why she won't be competitive again today.

CRACKERCOL (Warren Kennedy, barrier 7) will line up in race 8 at 4.27pm. A model of consistency this prep, he should finish the day strongly for the team. He'll enjoy getting his toe in the ground and will be swooping home.

Our final purchase of the Ready To Run Sale! Lot 457 - El Roca x Megara Filly 🌟

By El Roca, who’s absolutely FLYING right now – sire of one of the favourites in this Saturday’s Group 1 2000 Guineas at Riccarton Park (Swiss Prince) and last weekend’s 1000 Guineas runner-up (Lollapalooza).

This filly is a half-sister to two stakes performers, and she’s got the looks and the attitude to match her pedigree.

✅ Clean x-rays
✅ Great scope
✅ Strong, athletic type with a cracking walk and plenty of natural muscle

She’s a filly with a beautiful, tough head, great nostril, and that purposeful walk. The plan is to have her up and going late summer, and she looks the type that could run as an autumn 2YO.

And the best part? Outstanding value at just $55,000!

We purchased one other filly in the sale and she’s already fully syndicated. Don’t go leaving your run too late here!

Update: This gelding is now fully sold. Lance and Paul have taken the first 50%... who's going to make up the other half? Xtravagant x Love, gelding has just been knocked down to Wexford at the Ready To Run Sales.

A strong, athletic horse with a great attitude and eye-catching walk. Now a two-year-old, he’s not far off the races, with good natural muscle and the right attitude. As Lance summed up: “Tough, great attitude, and looks like a racehorse.”

Keen to be up and racing with the Wexford team in the near future? Here’s your chance. Shares from 2.5% are available.

Update: This filly is now fully sold. Christmas has come early team! The boys couldn’t leave the New Zealand Bloodstock Ready To Run sale without this one - Lot 282, the Ardrossan (AUS) x Cool Diamond filly, secured for $60,000 today - and if you’re keen to race with Wexford, you can get in on the action!

A fast, athletic filly from one of the strongest families in the catalogue, and a proven fillies’ family. Her dam is a half-sister to a Group performer, and if (or should we say when!) she earns black type, she’ll be a very valuable mare in her own right.

✨ Vetted perfectly – clean x-rays, not a blemish.

✨ Walks with real purpose – professional in her parades and has a beautiful walk on her.

✨ Ready to roll – already a 2YO with the groundwork done, you won’t be waiting long to be at the races.

Ardrossan is a young Waikato Stud sire going places. From small crops of racing age - 137 foals from his first three crops, Ardrossan is producing incredible statistics striking at 10.2% Stakes winners to runners and 5.1% Group winners to runners.

At just $60,000, she represents unreal value for a filly of this calibre. Only 50% remains following one hour post the hammer falling!

Keen to be up and racing with the Wexford team in the near future? Here’s your chance.

The team heads to Te Aroha today, with four horses on the truck 🏇

TE ATATU MEMPHIS (Corentin Berge, barrier 2) will line up in race 2 at 1.11pm. A horse that is going better than his form suggests, he's continued to train well and if he gets good fortune in the running, he can figure on a track he loves.

MORE BLISS (pictured) (Warren Kennedy, barrier 10) will line up in race 7 at 4.15pm. She was pleasing on debut and has gone the right way since. She comes into today with high levels of confidence and will be running on strongly.

LARK (Niranjan Parmar, barrier 2) will also line up in race 7. The blinkers go on today, which we've seen a good improvement with in her work. She's fitter for her first-up run, has a good gate today and we're expecting a big improvement from her debut.

SWEET BUT PSYCHO (Matt Cartwright, barrier 7) will line up in race 9 at 5.28pm. A last start winner, she lines up with sky high confidence. She is stepping back in distance today, and any rain will only aid her chances.

Wexford Weekly - 10/ 11 | All Roads Point Towards Summer Racing!

SMART LOVE continued her stunning form at Pukekohe Park on Saturday, keeping her perfect season record intact - three starts for three wins! The classy mare, raced by Garry and Mary Chittick, has impressed at every turn this season. While the immediate focus has been on getting through the grades, there’s no doubt that bigger targets loom on the horizon.

WOMAN IN CHARGE produced another eye-catching performance, storming home for a strong third at Avondale, while FOXGLOVE is one for your black book, following an excellent fresh-up run on Saturday.

Back in the barn, a couple of our headline acts have returned to work - none other than triple Group 1 winner WAITAK and dual Group 1 winner GRAIL SEEKER. Both horses have come back in great order, showing plenty of enthusiasm towards their work. WAITAK is set to head south to Trentham for the Group 1 TAB Classic in early December, while GRAIL SEEKER will be on a mission to defend her crown in the Group 1 Telegraph in the new year.

Rumor has it that the boys have been spotted at Karaka for the upcoming Ready To Run Sales... 👀 We’re not making any promises, but do watch this space! It’s a sale that consistently produces top-class gallopers, with 10 Group One wins last season alone adding to its incredible record of racetrack success. As the name suggest, these horses are 'ready to run' (or closer to it than yearlings anyway!), already being two-years-old. The hunt is on for the next Wexford star.

We will have a handful of runners at Te Aroha tomorrow, following more over the weekend at Tauranga and Arawa Park. Go well!

She loves winning! SMART LOVE brings up four on the bounce, with another dominant performance today 👑

A big congratulations to owners Garry and Mary on another triumph from your beautiful mare. ‘Smarty’ was strapped by Megan Fenwick, and regular trackwork rider Emily Farr was on-course to cheer her home.
