The team is headed for Ellerslie this afternoon 🐎

UDERZO (pictured) (Warren Kennedy, barrier 7) will line up in Race 1 at 12:02pm. He’ll be looking to repeat his winning performance from a fortnight ago on this same track. Warren knows him well, and he comes into the race in a strong patch of form.

MOSINVADER (Erin Leighton, barrier 2) will also line up in Race 1. Resuming today, he typically performs well fresh and has a solid record at Ellerslie. He’s expected to make a strong account of himself fresh.

KUSUDA RUSH (Matt Cartwright, barrier 20) will line up in Race 3 at 1:12pm. We’ve taken a patient approach with him, and he has benefited from physically. He’s enjoyed plenty of variety in his work and we’re expecting him to be charging home.

OSIPOVA (Jasmine Fawcett, barrier 16) will also line up in Race 3. She put in a PB last start when finishing second behind smart stablemate Catwalk Queen. She has taken good confidence from that outing, and look out for her finishing strongly late.

THE DARZI (Erin Leighton, barrier 10) will line up in Race 5 at 2:32pm. He’s a talented horse who is now starting to put it all together. Erin has a strong affinity with him, and a repeat of his last-start performance will make him hard to beat.

WHISTLER (Erin Leighton, barrier 14) will line up in Race 8 at 4:17pm. The wide draw may prove advantageous later in the day. He races well right-handed and is expected to be strong at the line.

RUBY RUSH (Matt Cartwright, barrier 5) will also line up in Race 8. Her sectionals were outstanding last start and she has continued to thrive since. Her work has been of a high standard, and with a repeat performance she’ll hopefully be rewarded with a better result for the Racing Queens syndicate.

LITTLE ORCHID (Jasmine Fawcett, barrier 5) will line up in race 2 at 12.25pm.

CHAPPY (Masa Hashizume, barrier 6) will line up in race 4 at 1.35pm.

LA REINA (Corentin Berge, barrier 20) will also line up in race 4.

Today’s the day for TRISTAR! Thrilled for this tallented mare and her connections - she’s been going top races all season and throughly deserved a win 🥂

Going down by the barest of margins and finishing a (very!) close 2nd was LITTLE BIT OF LOVE, giving Wexford the winning quinella in the open sprint.

Tristar was ridden by George Rooke.

The team will be in action at Te Rapa this afternoon 🐎

LAURA (Masa Hashizume, barrier 9) will line up in race 3 at 12.18pm. Racing well without a lot of luck, with a change of fortune today she can run a big race. She’s worked the house down and will start the day well.

FOXGLOVE (Warren Kennedy, barrier 16) will line up in race 4 at 12.50pm. She will appreciate the better ground today. She’s very capable on her day and let’s hope today’s the day.

IVY'S DANCER (Masa Hashizume, barrier 12) will line up in race 7 at 2.40pm. Racing very well, she’s super consistent and gets out to the 2400m today. A win is very close.

LITLE BIT OF LOVE (pictured) (Sam McNab, barrier 9) will line up in race 8 at 3.15pm. Loves Te Rapa! He gets the aid of a 2kg claim today and will be hitting the line strong.

TRISTAR (George Rooke, barrier 10) will also line up in race 8. She’s worked very well this week and will parade close to the best she’s looked. She’s a talented mare and will be finishing fast.

MISS BO PEEP (Masa Hashizume, barrier 4) will be one of three Wexford-trained runners in the open sprint. A winner two start back on the course and over the distance. Masa gets on with her well and she’ll hold a strong gallop.

RIBKRAKA (Erin Leighton, barrier 1) will line up in race 10 at 4.24pm. The bolter of the day! Out to his favourite trip and with Erin on board, he’ll put in a bold showing.

We always look forward to getting up to the Big E! Representing the team at Ellerslie today... 🐎

UDERZO (pictured) (Warren Kennedy, barrier 4) will line up in race 1 at 11.57pm. On the back up, he’s had a good week between runs with plenty of variety in his work. If he puts in similar performance, he’ll be right in it again today.

JUDY'S SMARTIES (Craig Grylls, barrier 2) will line up in race 2 at 12.33pm. He comes into his debut with good experience and confidence from the trials. He’s a c**t with a bright future and will quicken well today.

SWEET BUT PSYCHO (Masa Hashizume, barrier 12) will line up in race 5 at 2.32pm. Having her first attempt over ground this preparation. The manor she’s been racing in suggests she’ll appreciate the extra distance today.

IVY'S DANCER (Craig Grylls, barrier 6) will also line up in the fifth on the card. Racing consistently well, she’s performed well at Ellerslie in the past. Up in grade, but we expect her to handle the step up and put in a bold performance.

RUBY RUSH (Jack Taplin, barrier 11) will line up in race 7 at 3.42pm. She’s drawn the outside barrier, but gets out to a more favorable trip today. Any rain throughout the day will only aid her chances. She’s a talented filly and can bounce back into winning form - Jack’s 2kg claim will aid and he knows how to win on her.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going 💪🏼 💛 GRANDE GALLO in for the fight at Te Aroha this afternoon, securing the win for her large ownership group.

The team is Te Aroha bound today! 🐎

DESERT MYSTIC (pictured) (Jack Taplin, barrier 8 ) will line up in race 3 at 1.49pm. He meets ground that will suit today. Jack’s won on Desert Mystic before and he will appreciate the 2kg claim.

LA REINA (Masa Hashizume, barrier 5) will line up in race 4 at 2.29pm. Her training has been pleasing heading into today, and from a good gate she should get a nice trip. There’s a touch of improvement to come post today, and her next one will be her best one.

GRANDE GALLO (Masa Hashizume, barrier 10) will line up in race 5 at 3.04pm. We’re expecting a big run from ‘GG’ today. She meets ground that will suit and while she’ll need some luck from the wide barrier, if she gets a good run she’ll be hard to beat.

UP THE ANTI (Jack Taplin, barrier 1) will line up in race 6 at 3.39pm. Racing very well, and if another than will benefit from Jack’s claim. From a good gate, he won’t be far from a winner today.

We’re looking forward to getting on-course at Te Aroha this afternoon 🐎

CHAPPY (Masa Hashizume, barrier 11) will line up in race 2 at 12.15pm. The blinkers go on for the first time today. He looks incredibly healthy, and while he’ll need fortune from the wide gate, if backs up his fresh up run he will go close.

GRANDE GALLO (Masa Hashizume, barrier 11) will line up in race 5 at 1.59pm. She can’t buy a barrier - she’s another that will need fortune in the run! She’s airborne on the track, is racing particularly well and just needs a touch of luck in the running to be a winner.

TRISTAR (Matt Cartwright, barrier 9) will also line up in race 5. Blazing on the training tracks, she’s a good sprinting mare that will be hitting the line hard. Any rain won’t bother her.

UP THE ANTI (Masa Hashizume, barrier 12) will line up in race 9 at 4.18. Racing very consistently, he enjoyed the extra distance last start when finishing a close 2nd. He always goes a good race and will round off the day strongly for the team albeit from a wide gate.
