🌿 WHY DOES A GOOD BALM NEED TO ABSORB? 🐾

🌿 PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: PEA POWDER 🐾

If you've never heard of PEA (palmitoylethanolamide) before, you're definitely not alone!

PEA is a naturally occurring fatty acid amide that plays a role in helping the body regulate inflammatory and immune responses.

So why are we interested in it for dogs?

👉 Because inflammation and itch can be closely connected.

Research into PEA in dogs has found some promising results, particularly in dogs with atopic dermatitis. In one study of 160 dogs, ultra-micronized PEA was associated with reduced itching, fewer skin lesions and improvements in quality of life after 8 weeks.

One of the ways PEA may work is by helping to calm mast cell activation. Mast cells are involved in allergic skin reactions and can release substances such as histamine that contribute to itching and inflammation. Research in canine skin has shown that PEA can help down-regulate this mast-cell activity.

And that's what we love about ingredients like PEA — we're not just looking at “what can stop the itch?”

🐾❤️ HAPPY WORLD DOG DAY ❤️🐾

Today is for the dogs.

The ones who give us everything they have, every single day, and ask for so little in return.

A full belly.
A safe place to sleep.
A few kind words.
A walk to sniff absolutely EVERYTHING.
And, of course, a good scratch behind the ears. 🥰

They don't care how successful we are.
They don't care what we look like.
They don't care if we've had a bad day.

They just want to be beside us.

They celebrate us when we walk through the door like we've been gone for years. They sit with us when we're sad. They make us laugh when we need it most. They give us their trust, their loyalty and their whole heart.

🌿 DID YOU KNOW? Wandering Jew could be contributing to your dog's itchy skin! 🐶

Spring is just around the corner, and while we love seeing everything growing again, some of those plants can be less welcome for our pets.

Wandering Jew (Tradescantia fluminensis) is a common plant in New Zealand, and contact with it can cause skin irritation in some dogs. For sensitive dogs, spending time pushing through gardens, long grass and overgrown areas may mean more licking, scratching or irritated skin.

And sometimes the tricky part is figuring out what's actually triggering the itch! 🌿
