🌟 JIMMYSSTAR wins the Gr.1 All Aged Stakes at Randwick!!

This 5yo son of PER INCANTO x Anniesstar weaved his way through the field to win, showing his blistering turn of foot!

Huge congratulations to our fellow breeders and part owners Pete and Chrissie Algie and Ozzie Kheir (Group1 Bloodstock) and all the owners in Australia.

Huge thanks to Ciaron Maher on another massive training feat to win another Gr.1! And WOW what a ride by Ethan Brown.

And just like that the final day of the Autumn Championships is here at Randwick along with some great racing action across NZ and Australia🏇

Our shining star – Jimmysstar (PER INCANTO x Anniesstar 5yo gelding) starts in the AUS$1.5mil Gr.1 Schweppes All Aged Stakes 1400m. Jimmysstar steps up in distance from 1200m and going off his incredible sectionals from his last start 4th in the Gr.1 TJ Smith, he should be right in the money! All of Little Avondale, Pete and Chrissie Algie, along with his ownership group and trainer Ciaron Maher, will be riding Jimmy home and everything is crossed he can add to his tally of Gr.1 wins.

Belclare (Per Incanto x Miss Rhythmic) is back in Australia in Bjorn Baker’s Stable and she too will contest the Gr.1 All Aged Stakes at Randwick. Belclare has trialled very well in Sydney and by all accounts is in great health. All the very best of luck to our local friends and clients, David and Deb Woodhouse and Bjorn Baker and his team - a stable that is absolutely FLYING at the moment!

There is further LA interest in the Gr.1 All Aged Stakes, with the Little Avondale born, reared and sold graduate Desert Lightning (Pride of Dubai x Isstoora) resuming for Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman and his ownership group. Desert Lightning was bred by Wes Van der Scheer and Little Avondale reared and sold him on behalf of Wes at Karaka 2021 for $150,000.

Little Avondale has a share in the exciting 3yo Tardelli (I am Invincible x Pierro Moss) who starts in the Gr.3 Manco Easter HCP over 1600m. Tardelli has recently won a trial and will go into this race as one of the favourites and has a top jockey in Michael McNab aboard. Tardelli is trained by Stephen Marsh and was very impressive winning on Champions Day at Ellerslie and is looking to add further valuable black type to his CV after his Gr.3 and Listed 3rd placings.

Ellerslie sees the LA born, bred and sold Sense of Timing (Time Test x Pin Up Lae) starting in the Trackside HCP over 1600m. LA is thrilled to remain in the ownership of this 4yo mare with Te Akau and she is looking to add to her CV which already includes a LISTED 2nd as a 3YO

LA Announce Per Incanto Fee

On the back of another season of elite level performers and excellent sale ring results, LA have lifted the service fee for Per Incanto this season to $60,000 plus GST.

The son of Street Cry will serve a limited book of 85 mares.

Australian Gr.1 victories in 2025 by Jimmysstar and Gringotts, together with the emergence of the exciting Gr.2 winning 3YO Evaporate as a genuine elite level performer, along with a string of Gr.2 winners Marble Arch, Belclare and Marotiri Molly now has the stallion deservedly recognised amongst the very best stallions in Australasia.

This coming Saturday has Per Incanto with four horses set to feature on the final day of the Championships, head lined by Belclare and Jimmysstar in the Gr.1 All Aged Stakes.

Per Incanto is currently locked in a titanic battle with Savabeel for the Centaine Award for the NZ sire with the highest prizemoney earnt worldwide. With over $15 million in earnings already, he’s less than $150k behind the Waikato Stud stallion who has owned the Award since 2015.

Per Incanto’s yearling sale results increased again in 2025, averaging NZ $207,000 for 34 yearlings sold across the five major yearling sales. He recently averaged A$425,000 at Sydney Easter.

Little Brose, Per Incanto’s Gr.1 Blue Diamond winning son, will stand at $15,000 plus GST for his first season in 2025.

The Street Cry bloodline has had an incredible 2024-25 season in Australia highlighted by the performances of the stock of his three sire sons Per Incanto, Pride of Dubai and Street Boss.

The weekend racing again highlighted the strength of the Blue Diamond as a race for sires with Written By (2018) and Tagaloa (2020) posting black type performers.

Little Brose is the first Australian 1200m Gr.1 winning two-year-old c**t to debut at stud in NZ. He will have his first public parade at Little Avondale on 15 May.

Another fabulous SATURDAY of racing across NZ and Australia 🏇

Little Avondale’s born and bred Rue de Royale (PER INCANTO x Urban Royal) starts in the LISTED Bendigo Guineas over 1400m. Rue de Royale was a last start 2nd over 1300m and is well placed to win here. Rue de Royale in his short career is already Gr.3 placed over 1400m. Rue de Royale was bred and sold by Little Avondale and Buzz & Susie Williams. All the best to his owners and trainers – Tony and Calvin McEvoy.

Little Avondale has a share in the exciting 3yo Enriched (I am Invincible x Miss Atom Bomb) who starts in the Gr.2 Arrowfield 3YO Sprint. Enriched comes into this race as a winner of the Listed Fireball Stakes on the 8th March and 2nd to the top filly Autumn Glow in a Listed race at Rosehill on the 22nd March. Good luck to our fellow owners and trainer, Michael Freedman and Jockey Tommy Berry.

Morphettville sees the very consistent sprinter, Mrs Chrissie (PER INCANTO x Turf Fire 6yo mare) start in the Gr.3 Sportsbet R N Irwin Stakes. Mrs Chrissie was bred by Chris Doak and Rosie Ealden and is trained by Ciaron Maher. Copperfield (PER INCANTO x Miss Centrefold) is going for 3 wins in a row in the Carrathool Cup.

Trentham today, sees Gr.2 winner Marotiri Molly (PER INCANTO x Marotiri Miss) resuming in the Listed City of Napier Sprint over 1200m. Marotiri Molly was super impressive at the Foxton trials two weeks ago and will go into this race in great order. All the very best of luck to her owners and breeders, Bevan and Christine Parlato and trainer Matt Dixon and jockey Kate Hercock. Another PER INCANTO mare, Perfectsister will also start in this race for trainer Gary Vile.

Domestically there’s plenty of Little Avondale born, reared and sold horses to follow at both Trentham and Riccarton.

LA born, reared and sold Donna Chiara (Belardo x Bellabaci) starts in the Listed NZB Insurance Stakes along with fellow Masterton filly, Connello (Time Test) for David and Deb Woodhouse and Lisa Latta. LA born, reared and sold Tikki (PER INCANTO x Ivy Hall) is looking to add to her impressive record of wins in the Commodore Hotel Sprint over 1200m at Riccarton. She will have to contend with the Listed place-getter Bellucci, who is accumulating a very good record since moving to the South Island. Other great chances include the trio of Per Incanto’s, Anaroa, La Dulcin’ee and Lady Rosabella in race 9 at Trentham.
