It is with great sadness we announce the closure of Marton Moggies.
A few weeks ago we adopted out our final 2 kittens, Rocko and Dobby. For the past few months, we have discussed how to keep the rescue going but the decision has been made to stop. We are very sad this is the outcome, however, it is the right one. Both of us will spend a large amount of time next year travelling for our jobs/study which will make caring for kittens and cats impossible. The rescue also took a large toll on our mental health, and mental health is not something that can or should be compromised.
We wish we could continue but knowing we have rescued and rehomed over 130 kittens is blimmin awesome! We are so proud of the work Marton Moggies achieved and we both hope later in our lives to assist in the animal rescue world once again.
We want to thank every single person who has supported this rescue in anyway. We are forever grateful for everyone’s support and without you all we never could have done what we did. There are many great rescues throughout the Manawatu who we have donated our equipment to help them carry on with the amazing work they do.

Ready for adoption!! 🐱❤️🏡

This gorgeous man is still looking for his forever home. Unfortunately black cats are often the hardest to rehome and for this lovely dude it’s been the case. 😢 Rocko is such an affectionate beautiful boy. He gets along with dogs extremely well and has nothing but love to give. While he is a little shy to begin with once he knows you he’ll shower you in his love. 🥰
Rocko is desexed, fully vaccinated and microchipped. He’s loving it with our family but he’s ready for his forever home 🏡 ❤️

Rocko is ready for his forever home! 🐱🏠

This beautiful chap is ready for the next chapter of his life and is on the hunt for his forever family. ❤️

Rocko has been in our care for a wee while now and we’ve slowly but surely seen him come out of his shell! While he’s still a bit shy and wary of new people and things, he’s showing his more confident side more often and is really quite a cool kitty.
He loves a hand to boop and as soon as you pick him up he’s away purring. 🥰

We think Rocko would suit a more quiet relaxing home as the only pet as that’s when he really thrives with one on one attention!

Update - this cool boy has been adopted ❤️

Our other cool dude up for adoption!!

This little man is the brother of our other baby up for adoption. He is also part of a litter of 6 🐱

It must run in the genes because just like his other 3 brothers he’s got such an awesome personality. All of the boys have been very vocal and will tell you all about their day 😅❤️ this chap is very people oriented and absolutely loves you. He’ll be best friends with you in only a few minutes and once your mates your mates for life 🥰

He’s been desexed, microchipped, had his vaccine and is all up to date on flea / worm treatments.

Update - this cool boy has been adopted ❤️

This beautiful boy is looking for his forever home. He’s part of a litter of 6 and has 4 other ginger brothers 🐱❤️

This dude is such an awesome kitten. He loves humans and will run over to you as soon as you walk in the room. We’ve seen him come so far and every day he’s growing more confident and more loving. He’s got a good purr on him, you’ll be able to hear it from the other side of the room.

He has been desexed, microchipped and had his first vaccine. He’s also all up to date on flea and worm treatments.

Ash is now ready for adoption!! 🎉❤️

This little girl had a rough start to life being found with her mother and 4 siblings in a rose bush. After rescueing them they were extremely sick due to the mother having an infection and passing it through to the babies when feeding! Luckily we had found them as in the wild all 5 babies would not have made it! We immediately removed the babies off mom and started hand feeding every 2 hours!! Unfortunately 2 little ones couldn’t fight the infection and passed away 😢 After an extremely stressful and rocky 3 weeks the medication finally kicked in and the remaining 3 were kicking the infection and starting to regain strength, weight and energy! 😊🐱

Fast forward a few months and they’re now healthy and happy as could be!! Because they’ve been hand fed, they are extremely human oriented❤️ the minute you walk in the room they’re sprinting over to you and purring their heads off 🥰 Ash is an absolute darling and always has been. She gets along great with other cats and kittens.

She has been desexed, microchipped, had her first vaccine and up to date on flea / worm treatments 😊

Wow thank you all so much! There was heaps of interest in him and we are so grateful for everyone sharing him around 💕 He had a meet and greet today and has gone home to a great new family 🥰

Nova is still looking for a home ❤️

We are so surprised this little dude hasn’t been snapped up yet! There’s been very little interest which sucks because he has so much love to give !
Nova is a special boy who came to us feeling very sorry for himself with his sister! She’s since been adopted and he’s looking for a family.

He is a very very playful boy with so much character! He also loves a snuggle and being held like a baby🥰 he’s great with other cats, but if he had a sibling it would need to be one that could keep up with his energy! He’s also been around children 💕

He’s been growing very fast and we can tell he’s going to be a huge majestic boy!
Nova is a very well loved (by both us and his foster family) and he really deserves to find a home.

It’s been a pattern that black cats are less popular and that’s a real shame because some of them, especially Nova, have awesome personalities, will contribute so much to a family and have a lot of love to give ❤️

Nova has been desexed, microchipped and has had his first 2 vaccinations. He’s also up to date with flea and worm treatments!
