9 dogs desexed this week cheers to SPCA New Zealand vouchers!
5 female dogs who are not going to be contributing to the rising numbers of unwanted puppies!
4 male dogs who will not contribute to the roaming dog problem and jumping fences to knock up females in heat!
We also had a cat called Diesel come in who was meant to be a desex, turns out she was chipped and already fixed! Her chip was not registered, so we got in touch with the rescue and kind people who brought her in to let them know. They made a post on their local FB group, and 30 minutes later they had an owner come forward!!
Diesel was actually Licourice! Who has been sadly missing for a year after being chased by roaming dogs in her own yard! π₯Ί she has now been safely returned to her family, who were stoked and amazed to have found her after all this time!
This is why we push the importance of microchipping (which is different to Council Registering) as this small little chip can help reunite owners quickly. If your pet is microchipped, make sure your contact details are up to date!
