If you are seeing some changes in your senior pet's behaviour such as stiffness when getting up; limping or walking differently, then it could be osteoarthritis.

The best thing to do is to contact your vet clinic to book an examination.

Here are some tips that could also help:
• Thick padded orthopedic dog beds can help to alleviate excess pressure on sore joints and provide more warmth from a cold floor during the winter months.
• Ramps are useful, particularly for dogs, to minimise stair climbing and to provide comfortable and safe access to favourite places (such as the couch). Ramps also help dogs get in and out of the car easily.
• Place your pet’s bowls, bed, litter box and favourite toys in areas that are easily accessible, so they don’t have to walk far to get to them.
• Talk to your vet about elevated food bowls, so your pet doesn’t have to bend down to eat.

BomaZeal™ joint supplements could help too.

Its Myth Monday!

Myth: Only cats and dogs can get worms – not people.

Fact: Worm infestations in your pet can threaten the health of you, your family & others.

Animal parasites can spread between animals and people (also known as zoonotic spread) causing disease.

Children are most at risk as they’re often in the closest contact with family pets and may be less inhibited by hygiene. They also tend to spend a lot of time outside and can pick up worm eggs from contaminated soil.
