Shortly after Harley was adopted from our Māngere Centre, his new whānau knew he needed a friend. As luck would have it, one of his littermates, Harlow, was still waiting to be chosen – so the brothers were reunited!

"We knew it was fate for the brothers to be together!" says new mum Megan. "Harley recognised his brother as soon as we bought him home, and now both boys are bonded and inseparable again - with very unique personalities.

"They sleep cuddled up either between us or on top of us. We often (daily) hear them calling each other throughout the house, and they hate being separated or apart. They're always waiting by the front door for us to get home."

Happy to these two adorable boys. We're so glad you've found a home together 💙

We'd like to say a big thank you to Bunnings - this time to Terina and her lovely team from Bunnings Manukau, who visited our SPCA Māngere Centre last week to help us with some much-needed gardening! 🌼

They transformed the space with beautiful animal-friendly plants and flowers, and have really brightened up the space, as you can tell from the before photo. Thank you so much for your hard work 🩵

Shout Out to Our Toy Heroes! 🧸🐶💛
We’re putting out a special call to our amazing community—our shelter dogs are in need of toys! Enrichment is a huge part of keeping our pups happy and healthy while they wait for their forever homes, and toys play a big role in that.

If you have any of the following to spare, we’d be so grateful:
• Chew toys
• Tug ropes
• Squeaky toys
• Soft plush toys
We are also needing some assistance with the below items:
• Newspapers (perfect for lining litter trays and animal pens)
• Dog jackets (all sizes welcome!)
• Plastic and soft dog beds
• Cat beds
We also accept towels, sheets and linen.

Gently used toys in good condition are welcome too! Donations can be dropped off in the trolley outside our front reception at 50 Westney Road, Māngere, any day between 10am and 4pm.

Your generosity helps bring tail wags, zoomies, and happy hearts to dogs who need it most. Thank you for being part of our compassionate community! 🐾🫶
