😷Hello humans, Lou here with some News 😷
‼️Unfortunately over the weekend we have had a couple of our daycare dogs come down with Canine cough, it’s commonly known as “kennel cough” This has been doing the rounds in the Welly region for sometime now.‼️
😷This is an airborne virus and is highly contagious.
😷Can be picked up anywhere that dogs have been with it, eg streets, parks, beaches, daycares, dog walkers, dog home stays and kennels etc.
😷Vaccinations do not stop your dog getting this, but it 100% lessens their symptoms, so please ensure your vaccinations are up to date.
😷 Symptoms such as hacking (like something is stuck) a cough, vomiting ( usually phlegm ), lethargic, runny nose. They usually last for a couple of days, then it’s a quick turn around.
😷 Dogs who get it should stay home for up to 7-14 days. We will keep in close contact with you. Dogs can still be infectious after symptoms stop, so a stand down period is necessary to stop the spread.
😷 Vets can offer assistance to those cases who can have a bad cough, so do not hesitate to contact your vets if you have any concerns.
❤️ Please if you notice any of these symptoms
,strange sounds or your pup is off, do not send them to school and get in touch with Anna. Thanks Pucci & Lou ❤️
