So it turns out the old man wasn't quite done yet...
For any of my long-time followers, you know I retired Lucky rougly 2 years ago... However, I just had a feeling he wasn't quite ready for the slow life JUST yet and brought him into light work a few months ago. Enter his new favorite person, Paige.
With the intention to "see how it would go," these two have just gone from strength to strength! Although he's a (little) bit more mellow in his older years, Lucky isn't always the easiest ride. But Paiges patience, willingness to learn, and adaptability as a rider has really shone through, leading to some pretty awesome results! Including:
🥇 Central Districts ODE, 65cm and best performed TB for the class. Video of their cracking XC below!
🥈&🥉 Horowhenua Dressage, ungraded level 0. This also resulted in them winning Reserve Champions for the day!
Represented Motua and Horowhenua Pony Clubs in Area Dressage, Melda Gibson Dressage, and Interbranch Showjumping. Each time providing good scores for their team. There's probably more, but it's been such a whirlwind that it's escaped me!
I still MUCH prefer my bum being in the saddle at competitions. Being the organiser/ groom is stressful! But it's been so cool to watch my special boy teach the next generation. Lucky you really are 1 in a million ❤️
Finally, the biggest thank you to Megan and Paige for taking such good care of him 🙌
