Full-Time Animal Care Attendant Wanted! 🐾

Dog World Kerikeri is Hiring!

Dog World is a boutique Daycare, Puppy Class and Training facility located in gorgeous Kerikeri Northland. We also offer Puppy Classes from 8 weeks onwards and Adult Obedience Training.
We are looking for a full-time Animal Care Attendant in our doggy Daycare.

In this role, you will be responsible for opening up at 8am and getting the facility ready for the day ahead.

Some of the responsibilities include:
🐶 Cleaning & maintaining a hygienic environment for dogs.
🐶 Feeding & exercising dogs will also include establishing a routine and providing stimulation for dogs in the facility.
🐶 Communicating with customers about their dogs and providing feedback about their dogs' day & behaviours.
🐶 Supervising volunteers who may come in to help.
Keeping records and collecting payments where necessary.

Animal care attendants may also assist in the retail or warehouse areas to:
🐶 Serve customers
🐶 collect payments
🐶 pack orders for dispatch
🐶 keep accounts and stock records

Skills & Knowledge:
🐶 Basic husbandry knowledge & experience is needed - this includes things like monitoring dog behaviours, reading body language & knowing how to calm dogs appropriately, as well as facility hygiene management.
🐶Knowledge of the animal welfare act & recognising when there is a health issue present with an animal.
🐶 Animal first-aid would be advantageous, although we can provide training.

Personal Requirements:
🐶 You must be confident working with dogs and have knowledge of various common breeds & behaviours etc.
🐶 Have excellent communication skills
🐶 Take pride in keeping a clean & hygienic environment & cleaning regime.
🐶 Be calm & reliable.
🐶 Have quick-thinking skills and be able to work well within a team.

Hours will be full-time from 8am to 5pm Tuesday to Friday.

Hey beautiful people! 🤗

We made it safely home to Kerikeri yesterday late afternoon. Now to unpack enough of the essentials things to live and groom. Given how tough moving is on the body, I’ve decided I will need to have a few days rest to be at my best for grooming all your gorgeous pooches. So reopening day will be Monday the 25th of October.

I will spend tomorrow on the phone making bookings. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

Hello you beautiful people 🤗

I’ve had a lot of you reaching out to me over the past few weeks requesting my return to Kerikeri.

So many of you have also offered to open your homes to me to be able to groom your fur babes and a few others that are in desperate need. I can not express enough how grateful and how much I appreciate that 💗.

Here’s the thing. For me to be able to return, I need a home I can also have my own animals and also a lovely landlord that would be happy for my to operate my little business from.

You all know I take great pride in my grooming, my home and work space.

Sooo…please keep an eye out for me. If you find or hear of somewhere you think may be suitable please let me know and I will look into it further. I would prefer to work from home but I do have another space on offer to work from if need be. As long as I can have my own animals there then I’m not fussed either way.

A few necessities that are needed for me to be able to work from home:

🐾 A bath

🐾 A space much like the carport I was working in. I would prefer a garage.

🐾 Access to power.

🐾 Fenced backyard preferably..if not, I do still have temporary fencing.

The home will also need to be a minimum of 2 bedrooms and warm and dry to cater for my fibromyalgia.

Please share my post and get the word out that I’m thinking about coming back if something suitable comes up.
