Guy grew up riding on the hunt field and the rodeo circuit. His father is an accomplished blacksmith and horsemen himself and so naturally, it wasn’t long before Guy was helping his dad with his farrier work and was stuck into starting and training horses for their family farm and clients. Over 20 years later, the Two Rocks Forge Farrier facility in Hikurangi was formed in 2020 as a way of combating the impacts of C19 on his business and a need to spend more time with his young family. He found that the traditional farrier business model of daily far, and wide travel was demanding and actually limited the number of clients he could service each week. Innovating his business to mimic other equestrian services has meant Guy is able to service more clients, steady his prices, offer flexible appointment times and most importantly, spend more time with his family.
