Thinking of veterinary wellness reminds me of a time when I was a young teen. My cousin's pup got Parvo Virus. To walk into the room and see the poor creature lying in a pool of dark black bloody diarrhea, smelling the stench of the virus, and watching her fade closer to death every minute, was a traumatic event that impacted the whole family. The virus is so contagious that our access to the dog was limited while she lay slipping away in isolation. This is an awful illness, but thankfully she was one of the few lucky ones to survive.
We are so very lucky that this is no longer is a common sight as we have a vaccine to protect our loved ones from this. This is the reason I highly recommend annual vaccination.
