MAGIC - Rakau Love Potion, registered paint mare. A lovely natured mare that is easy to catch and do anything with. Not suitable as a broodmare due to injury to cervix with first foaling. Has been broken in and hacked around farm for last 18 months, been on a trek, beach and travels well. Has a piece missing if back hoof but enough hoof to put a shoe on and last shoeing it stayed on for over 8 weeks. Has come in off the hill after winter a bit light and is currently being fed up. Is also getting some schooling from our current wwoofer. Happily pops over logs and has some jumping ability on both sides of pedigree. Is about 14.2hh and would suit an experienced teen wanting a project pony or just a mate to do everything with. In work and ready to go. Videos available

Welcome home Justice! This young c**t has spent some time over the summer with Ken Hawkins of Hawkins Training and more recently James Hazeldine getting started on cutting. He is now back home for his first breeding season for a few months before he will head back to James aiming for the cutting snaffle bit futurity next year. He is a lovely chill boy with some nice moves, 6 panel clear by parentage. Dam is Rakau Shining Spinner (Isapeppyspin x My Shining Ashwood) and sire Sierra Hesa Chief. He carries cream and champagne and dun so can through a wide variety of colour if you like a bit of bling. Current height 14.2. Limited bookings available.

One of our first mares to foal (due end of August) is Chelsea, a Dunskin TBxQH (Sierra Hesa Chief) in foal to WWR Idaho Joe. Registered with AmQHA and NZ AQHA (Rakau Designer Chic) she is a 2015 model and will be available after weaning. Gbed carrier and 150cm in height. She can be put back in foal here prior to weaning if you wish, either using one of our studs or semen you supply. Alternatively she was broken in when younger so could be brought back into work.

With foaling just around the corner we are finishing training last year's foals. All have now been haltered, covered, floated, started leading and had farrier trim feet today. At this stage all will be available, with a few DNA tests still to come. Unfortunately we lost the silverr bay filly.

H***y - our last gelding by Tuffs Fancy Jack. Bay tobiano. With Jack getting older these will be harder to find. Out of QH mare Rakau Princess Lena (Sierra Hesa Chief) he should have talent in ranch type events (cutting/reining), wont be a big boy emh 14.2, but is stocky. Lovely friendly nature, easy to catch, float, cover and trim, very trainable. A cruisy boy that could be a nice project for an older teen. Panel clear

Hawthorn - Justa Hot Lil Brindle (imp) x Rakau Night Moves.
Not bothered if this filly goes or not but we do already have multiple fillies from this mare in our band. She is bay tovero, will be a short stocky type - emh 14.2hh. Previous foals have made very nice kids ponies - versatile as able to do western, pony club, trekking and jumping. This filly should be no different and is quite eye catching with her colour and blue eyes in the dark face. Will also be a good breeding prospect later. Panel clear.

We have a little collection of coloured yearlings available, 2 geldings and a filly. I have been a bit slack posting updates on these but here goes for the first one.

Hidalgo, yearling (rising 2yr) bay tovero by When The Stars Align (Pure Stardust) out of Just Gemma, haltered, floated, leading. Been covered, gelded, and tetanus Vaccinated. Just had year tetnus booster so not due for next Tetanus for 5 years. This guy is quite leggy and will make 15.2 +. Beautiful soft nature, siblings on dams side are barrel racing successfully and easily trainable. Easy to catch in paddock - will follow you around like a puppy. Will do both English and Western and should be able to jump nicely. 6 panel clear. Pics from summer, is woolly now (has had a cover on the last month). Can get current pics.

JOHNNO - has proven his good brain with getting evacuated from the most flooded paddock and calmly going where asked. Not fussed about lights and sirens, should make a good stock or trekking horse. 15.3 now as a rising 4yr. $4500 winter special.
