Be on the look out for weaner cattle that are star gazing, blind, or staggery.
Thiamine (vitamin B1) deficiency can make an appearance in young stock recently moved to a high carbohydrate diet - like lush pasture.
If you are moving young cattle onto rapidly growing feed, consider giving them some baleage or hay to add some fibre to their diet and aid in rumen function.
Please call us ASAP if you have any concerns - thiamine deficiency is very treatable when caught early.
