It’s been a wee while since I’ve posted here.
Lots of life (good and not so good) happening in the background this last year in particular.
The biggest blow being that Mokawa lost one of its #1 cheerleaders on the 30th of November - my dad…..Which makes what I’m about to post all the more special.
It’s been a while since we’ve been in the show ring, but Sunday 21st Dec was our comeback.

My family - Tracey, Mum, Cam and Teagan thanks for coming and sharing the day with us, we appreciate you. Also all the rest of the fam that werent there, but always help when it’s needed (Luke, Cass and Phoenix)….and you Dad - you would’ve loved it.

To all the competitors we spoke to who were supportive, encouraging and genuine, THANKS 🙏 ❤️ you’ve restored my faith in humanity and the Welsh showing scene in particular.

Rachel and Gwyn Hughes, you put on an awesome show AND managed to turn your team out to your usual amazing standard…..your organisation, professionalism, integrity and genuine caring natures were fully on display. Thank you 🙏

In May last year I sold Mokawa Revelry to Gwyn and Rachel of Hughes Bloodstock.
This was the first Mokawa bred pony that I’ve sold and I’m not gunna lie, it was hard.
She won Supreme Foal with me at the North Island Foal and Youngstock Show in 2021 and was Res Champ at the Foal and Youngstock Show in 2023 - which was my last show with her.
Gwyn and Rachel have built on that foundation, and yesterday she won Supreme Purebred at the NI Welsh Pony & Cob Show.
I couldn’t have been more proud and SO very happy for Gwyn and Rachel!
Their hard work and dedication is obvious, and the fact that they are happy to share their joy with everyone that has had a hand in this fillies life is absolutely commendable.
Their win made so many breeders happy yesterday - clearly Mokawa, but also Pallygem Stud (who bred her dam Pallygem Herepuru Gold, and own her sire), Marion Lusby who bred her sire Ascot Punch, the list could go on and on.
Once a pony leaves a breeder, their story isn’t over, it just continues with someone else….and being acknowledged for being part of that story goes to show what true sportsmanship really is.
Too many people these days are quick to tear others down or not give credit where it’s due. Not this team!
Thank you Gwyn and Rachel!
I hope more people take a leaf out of your book and cheer each other on. The world would be a much nicer place. ❤️

This post is equal parts super happy, super sad and super exciting.
Mokawa Revelry went to the North Island Show in March……and it wasn’t our best work.
I let her down, we hadn’t practised and she simply didn’t know what I was asking of her in the ring. she wouldn’t trot out.
So…..we made a plan to get some redemption at the Foal and Youngstock Show that was held today.
We’ve had terrible weather and a few big life events that have hamstrung us in the practice department, but “super hubby” jumped in and managed 3 x 10-15 minute sessions with her before today.
He also volunteered as ”run the pony out” tribute (because I have achilles issues) and made his debut in the show ring!!!
Revvy exceeded all our expectations and then some!
1st - C/D 2-3 yr old
Res Champ - Purebred 2-3 yr old
2nd - Best Head
1st - NZ Purebred
3rd - Sire Progeny
1st - Suitable as Show Hunter
She can trot!!
She also had some awesome comments from the judge, steward and spectators.

In the midst of the crappy outing in Taupo and the awesome one today I had an enquiry about Revvy from a gentleman I had seen showing his mare in Taupo back in March.
He’d only been showing Welsh for about 6 weeks at the time, but watching the bond he had with his mare in the ring was a real delight. You could see the time and effort he’d put in to her.
He arranged to come and see her at the show today.……and I came home with an empty float ☹️

I have 3 very special Mokawa Girlies available to approved 🏠 only.
They are the first Mokawa bred ponies to be offered to the public.
Snow is the first by resident stallion BG to become available - this is pretty epic considering only a few lucky people have this (Kia Kaha Fairytale) bloodline in NZ.
They are registered purebred sec C welsh cobs of pony type.

BG had a great day out at Cambridge A&P Show yesterday.
1st - Sec A,B,C/D Stallion
Reserve Champion Purebred Adult
2nd - Best Welsh Head
As usual he behaved himself impeccably and did us all proud.
The weather played ball and it didn’t rain till after we got home.
Special thanks to Steve and my ma & pa who were support crew.
This guy is such a dude to do anything with. Can’t wait to get his kids in the ring soon!
