CRD is a registered charity dedicated to helping the stray and abandoned kittens and cats living on the streets of Dunedin. Along with our dedicated team of volunteers we rescue, rehabilitate, desex and rehome hundreds of cats and kittens each year. We promote desexing of companion and stray cats, and aim to reduce the number of stray and unwanted cats in Dunedin. Our long-term aim is to have our

own shelter but in the meantime, all our rescues are fostered in private homes by volunteers until they are ready for their forever homes. Our main focus is kittens but we try to help with rehoming adult cats whenever space and resources allow.

This dear wee poppet was brought to Cat Rescue Dunedin today. She had been hanging around a property in the Pine Hill area for the last couple of days. She is not microchipped. A concerned resident noted she was injured and has been caring for her. If this is your cat please contact Cat Rescue Dunedin on 03 487 6789 or message us.

😺 Adoption update on a brrrr morning 😺

Tobi came into our care as a sweet little stray who needed time, patience and a quiet home to help him feel safe. From a quiet, cautious boy to a confident, tv-loving cuddlebug Tobi is now living his bestest life thanks to his amazing family and the dedication of his foster mum. His family says:

"Tobi has fitted in to our whānau as if he’s always been there. He loves playing fetch with his toy mice, belly rubs, and watching TV! His foster mum told us he liked watching an iPad at her house, so we gave it a go – and on his very first night, he quietly came out of his basket during our family movie night for a little peek 😊

He also does this hilarious meerkat impression when he’s curious about something out of reach (see the last photo!). A huge thanks to his foster for all her support – we’re so grateful!"
