Canterbury & Regions German Shorthaired Pointer Club The Canterbury & Regions German Shorthaired Pointer Club was established in December 1979 by a group of breed enthusiasts. How Can We Help Members?

The Club has a knowledgeable Committee, who can advise on how to deal with any problems members may be experiencing with their GSP; be it temperamental, training or just general advice and guidance. Although a large number of our Committee members 'show' their GSPs at conformation shows, we also have members involved in hunting, agility and obedience, as well as many other fields. The Club can hel

p members along the right track and advise on different activities available for handlers and their GSPs, even if it's just a social walk with other fellow breed owners. Benefits of Joining Members will receive the 'Trident' Newsletter three times a year. The Trident contains informative articles on a range of topics, recent show results and notice of forthcoming events. All members are encouraged to send in photographs of their dog(s) and contribute any stories or news, so these may be published. As a Committee we try to organise activities and events which everyone can come along to and enjoy, afterall, not everyone is interested in the 'Show Scene'. Recently the Club held a 'Versatile Hunting Dog Training Day', which was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. We also endeavour to hold a Show and Christmas 'get together' each year. Library We have an extensive range of library books, covering a wide variety of topics. These books are available for hire. A full list of titles and authors is detailed in the Trident. Membership If you wish to become a member of the Canterbury & Regions German Shorthaired Pointer Club you may request a membership form from our Secretary. Membership fees are; $20.00 Double/Family, $15.00 Single and $5.00 Junior

German Short Haired Pointer



Blaze is a stunning looking big boy and has a very affectionate nature. He is very typical of his breed and needs a firm but fair owner. He has loads of energy and needs someone who can handle his over excitement from time to time but he is very willing to please so constant routine works well for this big dude.

He needs a home with no cats, but he is ok with other dogs.

He has been trained to bunny hunt but I think in the right hands he could be retrained as a bird dog. He is very responsive to training.

MISSING - DOG - (CAPE FOULWIND) WEST COAST

21.5.20 Ara has been missing for 6 months - have you seen her? Please keep looking

10.11.19 My dog Ara is missing, out Cape Foulwind way since 8.11.19 been gone for hours no sign of her please get in touch if you have seen her! Went missing in Cape Foulwind 15 minute drive from Westport on the west coast South Island. She is registered and microchipped, female dog 8 years old her name is Ara. She has her collar on with tags. She was last seen Friday 8/11 at 11:30am at our family home in cape Foulwind.
