New kids On the Block!!!

We have had 7 new dogs come onto the adoption lane this last week 🤗

They are all looking for soft, patient homes, (a few are still learning how to interact and trust new humans and might need someone who is willing to come and visit multiple times) and are not suited to first time dog owners. 🐶

If you have any questions about any of these dogs, please call us on 03 941 7048 or pop in Monday to Friday from 1pm until 4:30pm😊

It is unknown what any of these dogs will be like in a home environment or if they have been around Kids/cats/other dogs/livestock

Enrichment doesn't need to be expensive or fancy. Check out our adoption doggos enjoying something a little different! This encourages their natural foraging instincts and provides a range of novel sensory input.

ADOPT ME! Here are our newest dogs for adoption! We are still getting to know these stunners, we will hopefully have more info about them in the coming days. As is common with shelter dogs, they will need work - so they need owners who are committed to putting in the time and effort to bring our their potential.

We don't know what they are like around children/cats/stock etc.

Here are our newest dogs for adoption. Two stunning boys, hoping their perfect people come looking soon 🐾

We have -

BUGSY, huntaway mix, 5 years. We're still getting to know him, but what we do know is he was living with 2 younger female dogs prior to coming to us. Unknown what he is like around children/cats/stock etc

KOBE, staffy mix, 1 year. This bouncy boy is very busy! His original owner has told us he has grown up around children, lived with other dogs and lived with a cat. Loves meeting people.

In the next few days we will share some stories of them out and about, hopefully making friends with our other dogs 🤞

📣📣📣ANNIVERSARY POST🎉🎉🎉

Well, it has been one year since we started this page - and for our adopted dogs, it has been the best year ever 💓
We've had so many people come in and see us, asking to meet our dogs by name after seeing them on here!!
We are so grateful to everyone that follows us, shares our posts, looks at our stories - which all helps us find new homes for our wonderful dogs.
We've been so successful that we have even had a couple of times throughout this year - where we have had no dogs to adopt - incredible!
We would particularly like to thank everyone who has adopted from us, you are all amazing, special people. If you've adopted in the last year and sent us an update - you may see your new addition featured in the photos below (living their best life!) 💖

For those people who applied and missed out - we also want to thank you for your time and effort but unfortunately we sometimes get too many good applicants for one dog 🤔

We would be so lost without Christchurch Bull Breed Rescue !!! They take so many dogs from us, and are there for us to offer support/advice at anytime - please share, hopefully that one person sees this and can help 🤞🤞🤞

It’s crunch time!!! 🚨

Our rescue centre has been sold, our lease expires in 65 days & we have no place to go!

We have been searching high & low for another property to lease but we have had zero luck & time is fast running out.

We currently lease an 820sqm concrete sealed section in industrial Woolston with a small garage & office. This costs us $3900 per month to lease. While ideally we want to grow in size, in these uncertain times we have to be realistic. Donations are down by more than $40,000 in the past year so a lease of this size is not going to be sustainable.

Christchurch is a small place. We all know someone who knows someone. So we are calling in all favours & putting this alert out to anyone & everyone. If you have never shared one of our posts before, please make this the first!

Calling all estate agents, real estate tycoons, & land bankers. Everyone’s whose brother or sister is into property. Your rich uncle Arthur who likes dogs, the mayor, King Chuck? SPREAD the WORD! Please help us find somewhere suitable to go.

CBBR has always been the shelter a community built & now we need your help to build another one. Shutting up shop is not an option. The dogs need us! ❤️
