There’s a great one woman reno page I follow, and her tag line is “Watch out for your single friends, they’re probably doing something hazardous” and while this wasn’t all that hazardous (unless you like your back), it demonstrates exactly the impatience and independence that other page celebrates! Personally I think the best feature of this reel is that it’s a masterclass in using rugs to move heavy stuff with ease, and a shining example of “I might be on my own again, but I don’t need anyone else to get this s**t done” energy (and yes, I do know there are plenty of helpers I could have called, had I chosen to). The biggest surprise for me was: I’m really enjoying the table in this spot (I’m quietly tempted to consider it as a permanent fixture, although the first food spill on that rug will be bound to change my mind). The other great news is: This is my final fortnight of building site living! This move is actually stage one of my prep for a busy week + a new floor being laid in this room in three days time 🍾. If nothing else: Take this as my example of how functional and in flux doesn’t mean you have to live in ugly, you just have to think about how to use your resources differently.
