Double-Coated Dogs: The Fluffy Truth

You’ve got a double trouble coat on your hands—two layers, double the fluff, and a whole lotta brushing.

Here’s what you need to know:

1. Don’t Shave!
That thick coat keeps them warm and cool. Shaving can mess up their insulation and can effect their natural ability to regulate their temperature!
(Trust us—your groomer begs you not to.)

2. Shedding Season = Fur-nado
They “blow their coat” multiple times a year. (Usually with seasonal changes) That undercoat comes out in tufts, and without brushing, it mats like crazy.

3. Brushing is Life.
Regular brushing removes loose fur, prevents matting, and keeps skin healthy. Want to skip the shave? Don’t skip the brush.

4. We’ve Got Your Back.
Pop in for a de-shed treatment. Your dog will feel lighter, look sharper, and your couch will thank you.

Just because it’s cold doesn’t mean your dog’s coat can run wild!

Matting happens fast in winter—especially with wet walks, jackets, and snuggly blankets. If you skip brushing, those tangles can turn into tight mats that have to be shaved out (we promise, we’re not being dramatic!).

Want to keep the fluff and avoid the shave?
Brush regularly, especially behind ears, under arms, and chest area.
Dry jackets properly.
Book regular grooming even in winter (yep, it’s still needed!).

A little maintenance = a warm, happy, and still-fluffy pup.
Your groomer—and your dog—will thank you!

Lest We Forget—All of Them.

This ANZAC Day, we remember not just the brave men and women who served—but also the four-legged heroes who stood beside them.

Dogs like Caesar, who ran messages through gunfire. Horses like Bill the Waler, who carried soldiers through chaos. They didn’t choose the battlefield, but they gave everything on it. Loyalty, strength, and silent courage in the face of war.

They were messengers, medics, morale-boosters—and mates.

Today, we honour every pawprint and hoofbeat etched into ANZAC history.

Because some of our finest soldiers didn’t wear boots—they had tails.
