Had an amazing weekend at the NZ Cavy Council’s National Show. Meeting great people, judges from Poland and Germany made for tough competition and high standards from across NZ. We’re delighted to have got 3 Best of Breeds and trophies for Dutch and Self Gold.

Wow such an amazing achievement this lady has brought to the NZCavy Council. We loved showing under her at the recent Waikato Cavy Club (Guinea Pig Club) show. 😘😘😘

First awarded in 1981 with 41 National Best in Show winners recorded, our Best in Show cup is full!

The NZ Cavy Council would like to celebrate all exhibitors who have achieved the most prestigious title of BEST IN SHOW at our National Show, however there is one that certainly stands out from the rest.

NZ National Cavy Show

Linda holds our record for the most BIS wins at our National Show with 5 BIS wins herself and a further 5 BIS in partnership with Colin Third. In addition to this impressive achievement Linda has supported the Cavy fancy for many years. Holding many committee positions at a national level, judging shows all over New Zealand and Australia, training new judges, importing stock into the country multiple times, supporting newcomers to the fancy with stock, advice and support and of course has held a major role in the success of her home club, Garden City Cavy Club.

Today marks two weeks until this year's Best in Show winner will be announced and exhibitors are busy dreaming of that big win but we’d like to take the time to say, on behalf of the NZ Cavy Council and the whole fancy in New Zealand
