10 DAYS to go..

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony! 💝🐾

This morning Jeremy, Angeline and some of our awesome SVC team were honoured to welcome our Marlborough Mayor, Nadine Taylor and a few other esteemed guests to a small and very special, Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. 💚🎉🎀

As Marlborough’s only independently owned and exclusively companion animal clinic, we are incredibly excited to welcome this new chapter in our new purpose built premises, at 61 Rene Street, Springlands🐕

We are still open as usual at 11 Boyce St, Springlands until the 13th July. We will be closed on the 14th July to move and will be open at our new home, from the 15th July onwards. Our friends over at Vet Marlborough, Vetlife and Picton Veterinary Clinic have kindly offered their support for any emergency situations whilst we are closed on the 14th. Thanks everyone and see you soon! 🙌

Want to hear a cool story about how IMPORTANT microchips are? 🐾💚

We recently had a gorgeous black and white cat brought in after hanging around a Marlborough property for quite some time. Lucky for him, the kind home owners decided to bring him in for a microchip check and TA DA....he was chipped! 🥳

It was Perru! 🩷
Perru and his family moved from Blenheim to Rolleston, Christchurch in 2024! Sadly Perru went missing not long after and despite their best efforts, they were unable to find him again.🥲

Fast forward to JUNE 2025!!! Perru is the cat brought in to our clinic in BLENHEIM!! That's 308km away!!😱 How incredible is that!!???

His family in Christchurch were immediately phoned (as they had kept his details up to date on the www.animalregister.co.nz ) and they drove up to Blenheim asap. 🥰

We will never know how Perru managed to get all the way up here, but we do know that the amazing reunion with his family would have been unlikely without a microchip!! ✅

So..PLEASE make sure your companion animal is microchipped. Not only does it increase your chance of a happy reunion should they ever become lost, it ensures we can contact you immediately in the event of an emergency concerning your much loved pet. 🐈‍⬛🐕🐰🐹

Update as of 29/6/25
Lulu found an AMAZING forever home but Little One has had no interest as yet 🥹

Meet Lulu and Little One 🩷
These girls are just gorgeous and are both seeking wonderful homes!

Lulu is around 4 years old and was found as a hungry stray in Seddon. She is very friendly (once settled) and has been great around cats and kids in her foster home. As her foster mum describes, "she is talkative and social, loves food and sunbathing and purrs, dribbles and snores" 🤣
Lulu is getting a wee dental before she goes to her new home so any potential adopters are welcome to come and meet her, but may have to wait a few days to take her home.

Little One was found as starving kitten up the Wairau Valley. She is around 5 months old and has been in a wonderful foster home for the last few months. She is great with other cats and would be fine with a respectful dog, but not suited to a home with young children.
As her foster mum describes " this ordinary tabby is a lass with personality! She is extremely musical with lots of kitten trills and chirps about everything and everyone! She loves exploring and is very playful but needs a patient family that will respect her space and give her time to settle in." 🐈‍⬛

As Little One's foster mum has covered what she needs prior to adoption, there will be a substantially reduced adoption fee for her. She is not currently at the clinic but will be joining us in the weekend. All enquiries prior to then can be made via our page.

As with all of our cat adoptions, there is an adoption fee that covers desexing, microchipping, vaccinations x 2 and their first flea/worm treatment. Please get in touch if you think either of these beautiful girls might be the kitty for you! 💚

Seeking Owner🙏
Sadly we have a deceased cat brought in to us by a kind client. Found close to death on Clyde Street, Renwick, he was unfortunately not able to be saved🥲

He is an entire male, grey tabby, very thin and no microchip. Estimated to be around 2 years of age. A photo is available by private messaging our page. Our sincere sympathies to his owners for your loss 💙

Goodbye Dr Tara Cheung! 👋💚

It's with mixed emotions we say goodbye to our amazing Veterinarian and much loved part of the SVC family, Dr Tara Cheung. 😭😄

Tara has been a highly respected and treasured part of our Veterinarian team for the last 6 years. She has saved the lives of and provided expert veterinary care to thousands of Marlborough pets and we know there'll be many of you that will miss her as much as we will! 🥰

Tara's warm, compassionate, efficient, and highly skilled approach to helping her clients and patients will be hugely missed but we whole heartedly wish her, and her family, much happiness on their Australian adventures!! 🐨🦘

Tara's last day will be Friday June 27th so please book in as soon as possible if you and your pet would like a consult before the big move🙂

2025 Pet of the Month Competition!! 🌟🥳
**JUNE** 🐾
**LUMPS & BUMPS MONTH** 🐺🐱
springlandsvet.co.nz/petofthemonth

Every month you have the chance to win a $30 Springlands Veterinary Services voucher!! All you have to do is post a photo in the comments below of your much loved pet!😻

The photo with the most 'likes' wins, so make sure you share our competition with your friends and fam! Get them to like your photo and increase your chances of winning! 🐰💚

This month's focus is Lumps and Bumps! Tricky to include in your cute photo but bonus points if you can tell us your pet's story in your photo's caption. It might just help save a life!! 😜

We always recommend getting lumps and bumps checked out as although they might be harmless, they could also be something more sinister that needs treatment or removal.🙀

Side note: If you have a friend or relative who has a pet but doesn't use Facebook, help them out and enter for them! 🙌

Sneak peak INSIDE the new purpose built premises! 🤩

In case you missed the previous updates, we are due to move into our brand new premises at 61 Rene Street in mid July! (scroll back to see all the awesome progress photos!) 🥳

We will be announcing the exact date very soon and contacting all clients directly via text and email too🐾

To match our new premises, we have also made a few other exciting improvements! To name a few, our computer software has been upgraded and we have improved consult times to better suit our client and patient needs. 🐈‍⬛

We thank you for your patience as we navigate these exciting new upgrades and please bear with us as we encounter the expected teething issues that tend to follow suit with any major change! 😁

Most importantly...make sure you watch this space as we bring you, our SVC community, updates on how we're working towards an even better version of the 'Springlands Veterinary Centre Experience' 💚
