The vets at Vet Marlborough have seen a recent increase in the number of dogs presenting with symptoms of ma*****na poisoning.

Even small amounts of THC, the main toxic element in ma*****na, can be toxic to dogs and lead to symptoms such as:
Lethargy
Disorientation
Dilated pupils
Tremors
Incoordination
Urine leakage

In severe cases, seizures or coma can occur. Cats show similar signs.

Dogs will ingest the dried plant material, edibles, vapes, concentrates or even human waste.
Symptoms may be seen as soon as 30 minutes or up to several hours after ingestion and can last as long as 3 days. It is a very unpleasant experience for the affected pet to go through.
Your vet may need to provide supportive care while your pet recovers.

Preventing access to these products is an essential part of keeping your pet safe and happy.

When it rains we have 2 types of dogs. Those that prefer to stay in their Pj’s and sleep and those that like bouncing around in the rain no matter what their age or what’s happening because they know we have towels ……lots of towels

Good morning!! We have the kind of puddles that Labrador and Retrievers like to jump in. But we only have puddles no flooding.
That said the Ferry Road Bridge is closed so you will need to get to us via Tuamarina.

Pepper has perfected the art of catching treats. Winnie can see them but misses and Bowie goes for the closed eye/squinty eye catch and does remarkably well.

The tale of Guinness and the little red dinosaur.
Little red dinosaur came to kennels with Guinness to keep her company. Unfortunately Dino had an accident. Guinness was very sad, as Dino has lots of “accidents”.
So Dino went to the soft toy vet and while a portion of his tail had to be removed his op went well, he was stuffed and stitched back together.
Time for a bath and then reunited with a very happy Guinness.
