Unfortunately, we've had a deceased cat brought into our Invercargill clinic on Findlay Road today after being found on elsewhere on Findlay Road (presumed hit by a car).

The cat is a black male, with a white tummy, chin and socks (tuxedo cat). Not desexed and no microchip.

Missing for over a year, this lucky cat was recently reunited with her owner! 😻πŸ₯°

Stories like this go to show that microchipping your cats and dogs is definitely worth it. Having a registered microchip made all the difference for this gorgeous girl, allowing us to identify her and discover her paw-rent's contact details.

Once your vet has placed your pet's microchip, you can register the chip's number with the New Zealand Companion Animal Register, which helps reunite missing animals and their families no matter where their microchip is scanned πŸ”

Beautiful Rata the Kākā came into our Invercargill clinic recently for his healthy bird check up with Vet Lisa. He passed with flying colours and was very well behaved.

He had some pre-oxygenation (second photo in his 'space helmet') before his blood tests and physical examination. Look at the stunning red hidden under his wings 🦜❀️

Invercargill City Council's Living Species Attendant said, "We are so lucky to have Lisa to work with the birds", and we couldn't agree more!

We have had a cat brought into our Balclutha clinic on Saturday after being found on Cherry Lane in north Balclutha.

The cat is a ginger and white female, has a stubby tail that appears congenital, and she is very vocal!
