Jamaica Bay will have the services of Craig Grylls in Race 2. He will need to improve but has found an even field.

Off the back of a brave run in the G2 Auckland Cup, Sword In Stone has enjoyed a short let up. He looks terrific and his best is good enough to figure in the Listed Hawke’s Bay Cup.

It’s a two-pronged attack on the Listed City of Napier Sprint with Silent Is Gold and Idyllic looking to make their presence felt in what looks to be another even affair, Race 8.

Rounding out the day is, Albarossa in Race 9. The promising galloper is second up with Craig Grylls retaining the ride.

Tivaci’s Affair gets us underway in the first of the day. Jim Chun takes the reins aboard the consistent mare.

Fantastic, fresh up for second, Cooper will have the services of Kelly Myers over the 1200m trip.

The ultra-consistent Silent Is Gold is looking to break through for his first win since arriving in New Zealand, Michael McNab partnered him two starts back at this track and trip and they will look to go one better here in the Listed Lightning Handicap.

An incredibly exciting day of racing gets underway with Silent Is Gold in Race 1 at New Plymouth. He finds a small field here and will have four kilos off his back.

Sword In Stone will get a shot at Group Two in the Auckland Cup following two fantastic victories upon his return to New Zealand. It is a huge feat to have the nine year old heading to the race in such great shape. Kelly Myers will partner him in Race 7.
