Lovely story about the rescue of border collie Molly, who got left behind in a remote area after her owner was injured and flown out. Funds were raised for a helicopter search and an eagle eyed pilot spotted her (see first photo).

The post below is from a cattery but is relevant to dog owners. It is a record (terrible) flea year and many of the products on sale, even from vets, don't work. None of the topical treatments really work, I have just found the pill Simparica completely useless (staff at Animates say they hear that all the time). I have recently seen fleas on a dog treated with Bravecto, though this was a first for me. Nexguard still seems to work, as does the Seresto collar. I have just found the vitapet carpet and pet bedding spray very helpful in getting fleas out of my car!!!

Yes I know I go on and on but seriously I do not want fleas in our Cattery

Frontline Broadline or Revolution DO NOT WORK.

Do NOT rely on flea treatment put a flea comb through your cat's fur BEFORE they come to us. If you see little black gritty bits it's probably flea poo, so put it on a damp white cloth and see if it rehydrates and goes red, it's blood, flea poo

If you've got a bad infestation use Capstar and a good flea treatment like Nexguard or Bravecto better still a Seresto flea collar. Frontline are now marketing their rubbish product in different forms so be aware.

We've already had 3 cats brought in with fleas after today you will be returning home with a flea infested cat!!
