🐦 Bird Flu: A reminder to stay vigilant
While bird flu (H5N1) has not been detected in Auckland, it's important for all New Zealanders to know what to do if they come across a sick or dead wild bird.
If you see one:
❌ Don't touch or move it.
📞 Report it to MPI on 0800 80 99 66.
🐕 Keep pets, especially dogs, away from sick or dead birds.
If your pet has had contact with a sick or dead bird, please give us a call for advice before bringing them in.
