For lops especially, a rubber brush isn’t going to cut it. They need regular grooms with the right tools, and ideally by a rabbit groomer. If there’s matting, that shouldn’t be brushed out, that would be very sore. You can destroy your bond with your bunny doing it wrong. It only needs to be done every 6-8 weeks at a groomers, maybe less depending on bun. Benny had lots of breaks for this groom and we went at his pace. 💛

It’s really important to have regular grooms for your buns, whether long or short haired.

At The Bunny Bach, we do not fill up with as many grooming clients as we possibly can. We are working alongside other trusted groomers within Auckland to ensure you are seeing your nearest groomer and therefor less less stress in the car for the buns and you 😅

We also allow for extra time for the buns to settle after arriving and enough time that there’s never a rush because there’s a client after. Most importantly we allow for breaks. Not for us! For the buns! They need a few breaks at every groom, maybe more for certain buns. These beautiful animals are not like dogs, we need to treat them very differently and remember they’re prey animals. They need extra care.

We do not shave bunnies, no matter how bad the matting - there are ways to remove tight matting without shaving, it just takes more patience and time.

We do not trance.

We do not medicate buns ourselves, we advise to see an exotic vet when appropriate.

We ensure buns that attend are vaccinated.

The groomers we work with are on the same page as us. 💕

I send you home with a health check form and any recommendations if needed. You then have a record to go by, and can keep an eye on buns weight. We offer a calm experience with extra time allocated for all scenarios. The rabbits are the priority. We do not have back to back bookings to ensure this✂️

A real day of support from the rescues.

Happy Rescue NZ organised for an order for a forage/dig box and some pellets. A lady who’s getting their help with a bunny offered to buy some things in support and Emily sent them our way.

We supply Happy rescue with all the hay they need for their fosterers and it’s great to feel the love back! 💕

This bunny is going to be spoilt with his new dig box!

Thanks Paws - Restart for your huge enrichment order for the bunnies in your care.

Hay, pellets and some treats on way too!

Paws Restart is a dog rescue but when they can, they jump in to help cats, roosters and now rabbits. An incredible rescue that rescues and rehabilitates some of the saddest dog rescue cases in NZ.

They have 4 buns in their care at the moment, including 3 babies! They are collaborating with Raining Rabbits Rescue NZ so if you’re looking for a new friend please email - [email protected]

It takes a village 🏡🐰🐶🐱🐓👩‍🦳
