👀Watch to the end 🎬 What an incredible month it's been gaining valuable gold-standard skills at the University of Tennessee for my CCRP qualification. Hands-on training with world leaders in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation after many many months of intensive theory learning. Some of the many modalities and topics covered include: hydrotherapy, laser, shockwave, TENS, NMES, therapeutic thermal ultrasound therapy, manual therapy, massage therapy, creating & delivering exercise plans for surgery/ injury recovery, as well as arthritis, strength, balance, proprioception, stretching, body conditioning, obesity. Using goniometry to measure and record range of motion, muscle mass, as well as using stance analysers and force plates to measure and analyse gait patterns.
Our anatomy learnings included half a day of dissections where we also had the opportunity to practise intra-articular injections into the many joints before doing these on live patients.
Learning to make castings of forelimbs and hindlimbs for splints and braces was exciting too, as well as learning how to fit and apply wheelchairs, braces and a variety of other assistive devices.
Being coached and guided in-person by Dr Darryl Millis, Dr David Levine, Dr Marti Drum, Dawn, Dr Beate Egner and the entire UT Rehab Team ensures gold-standard protocols and a world-class veterinary qualification highly regarded and recognised globally. I am forever grateful to the entire team and all my colleagues on the course for all the new skills and experience acquired.
I am very excited to be able to pass this level of care to your beloved dogs, cats and other furry pets, as well as being an Ambassador of VAHL - Veterinary academy of higher learning
