Today is 🌈 Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day - paying a special tribute to these treasured furbabies who passed this past year and sending so much love to their families ❤️ Forever cherished & deeply missed... It is an honor to have been a part of their lives & a great priviledge to have worked with them. One of the toughest parts of my work are the many goodbyes, but what an inspiration each of you have been. Thank you for all your unconditional love you shared so abundantly with us ❤️🙏

👀Watch to the end 🎬 What an incredible month it's been gaining valuable gold-standard skills at the University of Tennessee for my CCRP qualification. Hands-on training with world leaders in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation after many many months of intensive theory learning. Some of the many modalities and topics covered include: hydrotherapy, laser, shockwave, TENS, NMES, therapeutic thermal ultrasound therapy, manual therapy, massage therapy, creating & delivering exercise plans for surgery/ injury recovery, as well as arthritis, strength, balance, proprioception, stretching, body conditioning, obesity. Using goniometry to measure and record range of motion, muscle mass, as well as using stance analysers and force plates to measure and analyse gait patterns.

Our anatomy learnings included half a day of dissections where we also had the opportunity to practise intra-articular injections into the many joints before doing these on live patients.
Learning to make castings of forelimbs and hindlimbs for splints and braces was exciting too, as well as learning how to fit and apply wheelchairs, braces and a variety of other assistive devices.

Being coached and guided in-person by Dr Darryl Millis, Dr David Levine, Dr Marti Drum, Dawn, Dr Beate Egner and the entire UT Rehab Team ensures gold-standard protocols and a world-class veterinary qualification highly regarded and recognised globally. I am forever grateful to the entire team and all my colleagues on the course for all the new skills and experience acquired.

I am very excited to be able to pass this level of care to your beloved dogs, cats and other furry pets, as well as being an Ambassador of VAHL - Veterinary academy of higher learning

Gratitude Monday 💚

This week, we’re giving a very special shout-out to one of our longest-standing and most passionate supporters—a true twin soul in the adoration of greyhounds: Mary-Anne Smith.

Mary-Anne is a human with healing hands and a greyhound-sized heart. A community builder. Someone who leads with the question, “How can I help?”—and means it.

This year, Mary-Anne has added another layer to her incredible support of GAP by teaming up with our Greyt Stuff Manager, Christine Flatley, to create a series of tip-filled videos for the greyhound community. These videos are packed with helpful advice for anyone living life with a houndy—and are just the latest example of her generosity.

On top of this new endeavour, Mary-Anne continues to support our adoptable houndys with care and kindness through her massage practice. She donates her time, her skill, and her heart to greyhounds in need and always champions the work that all of the rehoming agencies do.

Mary-Anne, you truly are someone who puts greyhounds first—and we are endlessly grateful for everything you do. We know every greyhound who has felt your healing touch feels the same. 💚

🩺🩼 Winston and his Mum's matching brace! Winston's rehab journey is an incredible one and now his lovely Mum is on a similar journey having snapped her achilles tendon... 😱 As a mobile vet nurse professional, I love being able to support both Winston and his Mum during our regular inhome sessions. On a weekly basis I help exercise Winston in his fancy Orthotic from Pawthotics NZ. Winston was born with an ALD congenital deformity resulting in 1 leg shorter than the other. A couple of months ago, wild teenager Winston tore his cruciate in his "good leg" and had a successful TPLO done, followed by months of rehab with Animal Rehabilitation Vet , myself and the amazing team at K9 Aqua Ltd.

🏆 It certainly takes a village and Winston's mum is amazing at applying a multi-modal team approach in Winston's life-long care.

💕Wishing Winston's Mum a steady recovery!! Winston is greyt at giving his Mum loads of TLC and moral support!

⏰️ Counting down to the big trip overseas to attend the CCRP hands-on lab days at University of Tennessee, hosted by the legendary Dr Darryl Millis and Dr David Levine - pioneers and leading professionals in animal physical rehabilitation. I'm beyond excited to be coached in-person and learning from the very best in the world 🤸‍♀️🐾🐾 VAHL - Veterinary academy of higher learning University of Tennessee, Knoxville

🎓 WHAT IS THE CCRP? It's the Gold Standard of Physical Rehabilitation and the world's most established university-based certification in canine rehabilitation - designed & delivered by the University of Tennessee & VAHL

A message from : "We highly appreciate the commitment and teamwork of CCRP founders Darryl Millis and David Levine! Since the very beginning, they have worked side by side as a team, bringing vital knowledge and expertise to the world of veterinary rehabilitation.

Our CCRP program is open to a diverse group of professionals*. We are excited to include Veterinarians, Licensed Veterinary Technicians/Nurses, Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, Occupational Therapists, and even students actively pursuing these professions. 🌈 It's been a very heartsore weekend and start to the week with 2 families having to farewell their beloved fur babies... Legendary 17yr Charlie crossed the rainbow bridge over the weekend, and sadly another family laid their precious Dachshunds to rest: courageous Rambo, just shy of his 17th birthday and gorgeous 13.5yr Poppi 💔

It was an absolute honour to be able to help keep them comfortable in their golden years and provide integrative care to them over the past 3 years. Their families have been incredible in the care they provided, hence these family members reaching these incredible milestones despite a couple of speed bumps and curve balls along the way...

Visiting Charlie, Rambo and Poppi in their respective homes during their treatment sessions, a deep bond has been created with them and their lovely families. Their loss is deeply felt... Forever cherished, you will always remain close to our hearts ❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾

🦮 Correct harness selection & fitting is critical in maintaining your furbaby's joints, tendons and ligaments📣 I've shared a couple of important factors to consider in this video clip
✅️Always ensure the harness does not restrict their range of motion! If you need a hand in assessing your current dog harness, or thinking of getting one, feel free to contact me to double check if your harness is potentially harming your dog, or whether it's giving your dog the best range of motion possible on their walks & runs 🐾🐾 www.GreytTouch.co.nz
💕Huge Thanks to Sai Gregory and handsome James (For You Page) for being such greyt models
