Every now and again things exceed your wildest expectations.
We are beyond thrilled 🥳🎉🎊that all 3 Kittens have found spectacular homes ( all with friends of Homestead Cattery) Thank you 💖

‘Friendly’ NKA Little Missy - Is living a life of bliss as an annoying yet adorable kid sister 😸

‘Fiesty’ NKA Scout - (and S u p er Sweet) Joined a kitten of the same age who stayed with us at the Cattery where they met each other and played together 😻

SCOOTERS STORY
‘Frozen’ NKA Scooter 😽❤️‍🩹❤️ 🛵
Little Frozen was the shyest of the trio spending most of his time “frozen” with eyes as wide as saucers 👀 He also had a maimed hind foot, which as he grew became more and more painful and difficult to use.
Specialist Vet advice was that he would be a much happier little cat without it 😔
Yes there were tears - Yes there were deep challenging questions to the Vet, but in the end on the basis that the alternative would likely be painful surgeries with poor outcomes .. wee Scooters hind leg was amputated.
Scooter was taken by a fabulous couple who had the skills to nurse him and provide the super nurturing environment he needed physically and mentally
As you can see he is now living the dream ! The life of a crowned prince 🤴 complete with his very own in-house cat TV .. which apparently he adores

It doesn’t get any better than that, for three wild kittens 😸😸😸

There’s excitement in the Cattery !!
One of our rescued kittens has scored herself a dream home 💝🏡
Not just any home, but one with a tantalising twist in the “tail”
Four years ago, we found another wild born tabby kitten in a desperate state, badly injured with a broken leg dangling A kind hearted family immediately took him and nursed him into a beautiful young man.
It is highly likely he is the older brother of our tiny tabbies and has just been joined by his little sister 👧🏼 💕 what a delicious cycle of events !!
What are the chances a feral tabby kitten finds herself ensconced in domestic bliss with her older sibling 😸
Dreams sometimes do come true.
Hope you enjoy ‘Little Missy’ embracing the comforts and technology of modern life

That does of course leave two adorable little sailors 👦👦🧢🧢 who would love to make your house a home 💕

Kitten Update 🐯🩷💙💙
The kittens have graduated from Nursery to Kindergarten ! and loving it .. look how they’ve grown!
Now 3 cheeky monkeys
Friendly - AKA Little Miss Nosey Parker, Tiffany Teacakes - is an absolute charmer 💝 so much so, she has put on her best moves and sweetest smiles and scored herself a fabulous home ! (a storey with a fairytale twist itself) will tell you in another post - super cool
This will leave the two boys
Feisty - No longer feisty - Sweet and the second most confident- a very handsome young man trending silver Tabby - often seen with Miss Nosey in the videos
Frozen - AKA South Paw, Nubby, Timmy Tuppence - No longer frozen but a very very shy wee man, takes confidence from his siblings. He also has a slight issue with one hind paw ..where he has only half a paw- still works fine and doesn’t hold him back, but definitely the most fragile of the litter
In our wildest dreams it would wonderful if the boys could find a home together.
If any of you had an opening for one or two sweet little tabby guys who still need quite a bit of gentle nurturing (a project) we’d love to hear from you 😻😻

Holiday Snaps 📸 🤳 😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻
Despite the terrible weather which seems to have defined this summer we have had some beautiful days and exciting times full of variety and surprises
From feral Kittens to sweet Misty who arrived on an airplane much to her surprise and joined our very first guests in the new cottage units, to Jimmy who wouldn’t eat and had to be despatched to the bedroom where he took up residence on top of the wardrobe requiring hand feeding while being sung “If you’re happy and you know it say meow” ( Thank you soo much to Jimmy’s owner for the tip 💕) It worked !!!!

Over the past couple of weeks I had planned to post beautiful photos of our summer holiday guests lounging on their balconies …. Then this happened …. Closely followed by one of the worst storms we have had in years.
Our guests were unphased and somehow these teeny kittens survived.
We wondered why our guests in the outdoor play area were congregating around the far corner - turns out they were obsessed with the bubs.
Kitten trapping became a priority - not least of all to get these vermin infested babies away from your cats 😬😆 They clearly had not got the vaccination memo 😳!
Two weeks on and I am sure they are as surprised with their change in circumstances as we are 😁
All have had their first vaccinations and top to toe Vet inspections.
We have two boys and a girl.
The girl is naturally friendly… the boys are very frightened of humans - we will do our very best to domesticate Frozen, Fiesty and Friendly … and re-home them.
One thing’s for sure they couldn’t be left to grow up feral .. and after all, who can resist a teeny Kitten 😜

Something exciting has been happening over the last few months at Homestead and we are delighted to share it with you . . . Follow me 🐾🐾🐾
I’ve included an out-take at the end to acknowledge the challenges “videotographer” Laurel has, working with the older presenter who at times doesn’t appear to know where she is 😳

Loss can be paralysing … but sometimes there’s an unexpected happy ending.
We won’t sugar coat it. After our long time stay ‘Snowy’ left, Mississippi (our other long stay cat) who was deeply bonded to him, feel into a deep state of grief.
I was heartbreaking, she spent all day and night up high on a perch where she use to watch him take his walks. Waiting and waiting for him to come back. When she did come inside she abandoned all their favourite sitting places, began hiding in unusual spots and completely reverted to type (a very nervous timid cat) we were close to seeking medical intervention.
Enter stage left … “one of you” (two actually) A couple whose cat had been boarding with us noticed Mississippis decline and began spending time with her. After their cat left they continued to visit her and made the decision to make her a project 💖
Starting with gifting Zippy her very own “Snowy” Bear 🐻‍❄️ 🥹 a regime of “love bombing” began. Lavished with sumptuous treats, massages, grooming and play, like a princess.
I hope you enjoy this photographic dairy of Zippys transformation.
Mississippi adores ! her special visits and looks out for them. The transformation is astonishing.
The way she has bonded to her snowy bear may bring a tear to your eye.

But Wait There’s More:
Due to the success of Zippys rehabilitation, Our fabulous pussycat paramedics now volunteer at Homestead. They spend individual time with our longer stays “The Girls” (Zippy and Jasmine) and any cats who are needing that extra special attention. Your cat/s may well have received their care. ❤️‍🩹💖

Sometimes you’ve just got to get the accommodation style right.
These two Kitty Cats came into our social wing where everyone mixes and mingles with cocktails at 5.
It became quickly apparent they were terrified.😳😳
In a situation like this we always act and move Cats to a quiet individual unit that we have a hunch will work.
… and this is what happened 😻😻💕💕

The new toys are going down well 😜…Infact one can barely walk through the Cattery without becoming lassoed or taken down by a robotic rug rat 😳😆
